I don't have time to do all this right now (packing to head back to school), but if somebody can check out the realm list (http://www.wowwiki.com/Realms_list), find a central PVE server (I figure that's the best place to find one for all of us), and then find a medium population one, that would help out a lot.

I was just looking into creating an American account, asking if somebody would be willing to do some recruit-a-friend leveling etc. when I remembered the timezones, I'm like 6 hours ahead of most Americans and that would seriously mess up any raids / group schedules for me, I'd have to stay up to like 4 in the morning :p

I'll do the recruit a friend with you. :)

You can join the server I'm on and I can see if I can get you a guild invite, we have an Australian player who'd probably be happy to talk to you in the wee hours of the morning.

Just toss me your email in a note and I'll fire off the recruit a friend email.

You can help me get the Zevarah Mount on my gnome DK .. :)

Thank you for the reply, Andrew (Y)

I was thinking of doing the recruit-a-friend for the Neowin guild project, so a fellow player would benefit from the triple XP during group leveling and a free month to boot :p But I'm not entirely sure it'll be feasible with the timezones, I don't feel like playing at night - That's the main problem :/

I do have the next week or two off, so I'd have plenty of time to level but I still don't want to mess up my day / night cycle. Timezones, I hate thou!

Once again, and this goes out to anyone, I am available, with a free schedule to do the RAF.

If the bait isn't good enough I may just get another acct. myself and RAF.

Edit: Twisting Nether - US. It's RP-PvP, Central, and I know a lot of people there. 'Tis an option.

You don't get the mount. Only the person who recruits you gets the mount.

And darn.. :( .. I'm a mount collector and a pet collector.

 Thanks for doing that. So I think we should just start on any one of those servers, though we want to shoot for one of the more even ratios, so probably Quel'Dorei or Rexxar. I'm not going to have time tonight, but I can probably start a character tomorrow evening. Once we get enough on the server we can start the guild.

Anybody got a cool guild name? Or should we just go with "Neowin"?

Ding. Level 80 rogue at your service :D !

Grats! :woot:

So this is an Xfer / make a new guy thing? Cuz I was gonna create a new thread outlining things w/ polls for neowin faction choice, neowin server preference and server type. Thought it might be cool for us to all start from scratch, rather then having a few of us fund a new guild w/ current 80s etc lol let me know. Could be cool.

I think it's whatever we want to do, really. If somebody doesn't mind transferring for it (I just transferred my current 80 DK, so I'm not doing it again), then they can go ahead and do that. But starting from scratch is fine too.

I'll be happy to help others level by running them through instances and such, since I'll be starting at 55.

Make the thread.

I play on one of those medium servers listed (Staghelm). In general, I would recommend them the most to play on. You almost never wait in queues to login. And there's generally enough people where getting groups for instances or pug raids isn't too big of a problem.

How many patches are there to download?!

If you have to ask, you're not even close.

Gigabytes worth.

I'll probably be re-rolling friday or saturday. I've got hockey tickets and trainer sessions most of the week so that'll be the first time I can get to a store to buy a new account.

Edit: thinking I'll 2-box a paladin/druid or druid/hunter until 60 (use the points to power level my 29 lock to 60 too) then pick a char to carry through to 80.

How many patches are there to download?!

It depends on the package. For me, the total size of the installers is ~2.84GB, starting from version 2.4.0.8089 and going up until version 3.0.9.9551. (BattleChest user, but I usually delete the Patch.MPQ file, because at times it was causing me problems, and now it has become kind of a habit. You can never be sure. :p)

I'm on the realm Terokkar, with a Night Elf.

Seems very quiet! I don't see another player very often, is it just because of the time of the day, or because I'm early on in the game and most people are at different locations on the map?

The game is very mature - most players are off in "northrend".

You'll start on the tiny night-elf island which is part of the continent of Kalimdor. Kalimdor and the counterpart continent "Eastern Kingdoms" consist of about 10 'states' (called zones) roughly the same size as the island your on. You typically play on those two continents as you level from 1-60.

When you make it between 58 and 60 you'll hit "outland" which is another continent (a different planet) about the size of Kalimdor. You'll play there until you're about level 68-70 you'll head over to yet another continent called 'Northrend'. Northrend is big (larger than all the other areas put together). You'll play there from 68-80 and that's where 90%+ of all the other players are found.

You might want to make a character with those of us who are re-rolling to make a neowin guild. I can't promise it'll be newbie friendly but the people who have expressed interest are all very experienced, come from all different backgrounds, and could probably help you out along the way. Chances are we'll be making horde characters.

    • I am not surprised because life is the product of a lot of biochemical and physical processes that releases various energies as a by-product. The only thing new here is the detection of these photon emissions. The researches noted this "glow" is not a metaphysical one. They don't even immediately end when one is dead. Things like fires, light bulbs, and on a bigger scale stars release a lot more "light" and they are hardly alive.
