Thanks for the advice, although is there anything wrong with the 368x208/29.97 fps 1500kbps  stereo/128kbps? It's just a one up on the sound; although you mentioned it's perfect on the PSP. Does the aspect ratio of pixels matter too, I mean is there a difference between 368x208 and 320x240? I thought that they all would widen to the length of the PSP's screen. Which files are you using? I'm using the default setting with around 700MB avi files and they're comming out to be around 1GB or over(I have a 1GB card). Anyhow I'll do some experimenting with those settings tomorrow, right now sleep beckons.

i dunno i use 368x208 (16:9) because thats how all movies that are shown in the theater are released on DVD. Yes i know some movies are 2.33:1 (if i remember the exact numbers), but the movie has black bars on the DVD to make it 16:9 and the black bars go to the PSP as well, so it maintains the 2.33:1 aspect ratio. Anyways, i dont know if that 700mb avi has absolute crap compression or something, but i wouldnt recommend using it. If i were you id follow this guide:

each dvd is about 5 GB after being ripped, so you gotta have a lot of storage, but its well worth it.

That's very interesting.:shifty:? I went to the site that you put up and went through some of the steps. However when it came to the different offers and you had to choose one of them to complete to move on it needed a credit card number, social security number as well as a monthly payment for each offer. Tell me, how did Danny bypass that or is he paying a monthly fee or something:blink::

586124898

1) Never give out your social security number over the net. At least, I don't feel comfortable doing it...

2) Never give out your credit card number over a non-encrypted connection or to a website of which you don't know the origins of. Do you research. Before submitting my information to consumer info for the free credit report, I checked the better business bureau to see if there was any dirt on them. They were clean, thus I proceeded.

Some offers do have terms where you must follow through with the offer completely, or else your credit will be revoked. (As they do get paid through the advertisers, for you to complete the offers by.) However, there are plenty on the site that allow you to trial. The thing behind it is, that you should be willing in your trial. Meaning don't cancel right away, as then your credit will be revoked. If there is no intent to follow through with your offer from the get-go, it is considered fraud. They don't get paid this way.

I completed an offer under Danny. An offer being the free credit report at Consumer Info. He received credit for me, I received credit for my account. He had friends do offers like applying for a credit card. All of my credits came from the consumer info credit report and one from ink blvd. (Which you see I have 6 referalls that went green even though 5 were only needed. One of them went bad, because they didn't read the terms of service and created multiple accounts, of which isn't allowed.)

I actually signed up under Blockbuster Online on another Gratis website, this one being for a free XBOX 360. This is a nice offer too, as it's only $9.99 for the first months trial. You get unlimited movie rentals for one month, with three at a time. (As well as 2 free in-store movie rentals!) So, even still... if you consider getting a free $250/$350 product, $50, if you paid your friends to even do it... it is worth it. At least, I think so... (But like I have said, so far I have paid $0.00 in terms of my freepsp and as for my freexbox I have paid $9.99. I have to get 8 friends to complete offers under freexbox still.)

But yeah, I am going to link you to screen grabs of my confirmation and credit via: Gratis and Consumer Info.

That's interesting, I think that Dazzla didn't have any bars on the Finding Nemo movie and he managed to fit it on a 512 MB card. You said that your movies are coming back at just under 800MB for 2 hours and mine are around 1 GB as said before(WHAT IS YOUR SYSTEM DAZZLA?) I'll have to see what the files do with the bars you were talking about, so far on my computer none of them had any bars at all, but it might turn out different on the PSP. Yeah your probably right about the avis; some of the files have great compression rates and some don't. Such as some 2 hour movies are 200MB and some are 700MB for the same amount of time. I also lack the amount of DVDs that I haven't watched over and over again and won't get tired of, so I don't think I'll be using that site (note: I did know about the DVD decrypter and everything before, I just forgot to mention it; my bad )

Yeah that might be too complicated for who I'm dealing with. Seeing how I'm 16 years old and don't have several credit cards to use I'd have to ask my parents and well they're cautious about buying from Tigerdirect. :pinch:

I'd also like to say geez your lucky, you're really going to get a free Xbox and PSP? WOW!!! ;)

Thank you for those links too, you've been very helpful with this freePSP site and if I change my mind (get around 5 credit cards) I'll refer back to the message you posted, however I think I'll be paying for the PSP bundle I'm saving up for which is around $339.99 before that happens. Thanks for all the trouble you went through though with sending the links and getting all that information straight; my hat goes off to you.

OH MY GOD I JUST DROPPPED MY PSP!!! the headphones were plugged in and i reached out for the phone and everything fell.

it fell vertically on the bottom base, nothing looks wrong, is the PSP Drop proof? it fell like half a metre

HELP SOME1!

586128397

That sucks man :( . If it still seems to work I'd use the wristband that comes with the system more often so that if the system drops it will still be on your wrist . If it doesn't work I'd say you should see if your warranty is still good from wherever you got it from. If the warranty is expired then I'd see if Playstation will fix it (try www.playstation.com). If that doesn't help you might still be able to sell it on ebay or something.

HEY!!! My PSP came in the mail!  I love GRATIS!

I will post all screen grabs including photos of the actual product coming from the e-fulfillment center.

I am so stoked.  I am going to be going to buy some games--any suggestions on the current line-up?

586145597

I'd go for Ridge Racers :woot: and you might want to wait a few days for Armored Core Formula Front. Many other people suggest Lumines but I don't know if it's good or not. I also don't know your personal preferences either. ;)

  • 2 weeks later...

Hey will the Belkin F3U133-06 USB Device Cable (6 FT) (http://the-internet-eye.com/a-B00000J1TX/Default.aspx)work with the PSP??? I hope it does and I'm pretty sure it does. It even says on the package that it will work with ALL USB devices. Although when I looked at the PSP up close it didn't look like the cord would fit into the end of it. :pinch:

Just $46 from gatting a PSP, sweet!!! :D

Get a USB to USB Mini-B cord and you'll be set.

I got Lumines and Midnight Club.  I like Midnight Club... Lumines is just too much wanna be Tetris on crack--fun, but only in small doses.

586188016

So will the cord I picked out work or not? Did you go to the website I posted?

This is aimed towards anyone with a PSP that can look at the usb port and tell me yes or no:

Won't fit.

As per the instruction booklet... you need to use a:

USB to USB Mini-B Connector

Just go to your local computer/electronics store and they'll have it, it's not something made specifically for the PSP, it's a standard media USB cord.

I picked mine up at Tiger Direct for $7.

Dammit, it even says on the box that it: "Works with ALL USB Devices"

Then I looked at the PSP picture and it didn't look like it would fit, well thanks for clearing that up. :pinch:

    • Zed 1.7.2 has landed with updated OpenCode models, bug fixes and other improvements by David Uzondu Zed 1.7.2 recently landed on the stable release channel, bringing a host of AI-related features including automatic context compaction and settings-based skill management, along with other things like better Markdown preview rendering and custom git commands in the graph view. Starting with the AI stuff, the developers introduced "/compact", a command that basically summarizes your conversation history on demand. This tool prevents your active chat window from hitting token limits by compressing older parts of the dialogue into a brief overview. In addition to that, the team relocated skill management to the settings UI, improving how the application communicates errors regarding those skills, and updated the OpenCode model roster to support DeepSeek V4 Flash, MiniMax M3, Qwen 3.7 Plus, and Nemotron 3 Ultra Free. External agent users can also monitor context window cost metrics and delete individual sessions directly from their history. Right-clicking ref labels in the git graph now opens a context menu that runs different actions against selected targets, kind of how VS Code does it. Here are some of the bug fixes this new release brings: The active agent fails to auto-select when creating a new git worktree. A scrollbar unexpectedly appears on wrapped code blocks in the agent chat. Collapse indicators for project headers appear when performing sidebar searches. Bracketed ellipsis title prefixes fail to show the ellipsis icon properly. Project icons render incorrectly in the recent projects picker. Diff hunk controls appear inside non-editable commit view multibuffers. The software update button hangs indefinitely on the downloading stage. Restoring an agent terminal in a remote project triggers a sudden crash. Splitting a pane that contains an active commit view causes a crash. Linux Wayland freezes when trying to read the clipboard from laggy external apps. Zed is a "newish" code editor trying to break the massive stronghold VS Code has on the developer community. Funny enough, the editor was created by former GitHub employees who worked on the Atom text editor (which Microsoft killed in 2022, several years after it bought GitHub). The project officially hit version 1.0 back in April, introducing platform parity for Windows and Linux alongside deep support for DeepSeek-V4-Pro.
    • 26H2 absolutely will support ARM Windows just not on devices that came with 26H1. This is evident by the fact I am running 26H2, which on my MacBook Neo and Surface Pro 12 (inch), within a VM.

    • The FIFA World Cup is not US centric.
    • It’s amusing how Microsoft is pushing IT admins as if this was a major, game-changing update. In reality, it’s just an enablement package that bumps the build number, which is disappointing compared to the more substantial 22H2 and 24H2 releases. Technically, 25H2, 26H1, and the upcoming 26H2 are essentially the same, differing only in support schedules. They could have included the Windows K2 improvements here, but chose not to. The era of Windows being in the backburner continues, and this 26H2 release feels like an afterthought. Shame, Nadella, shame.
