First off, great theme, i love it!

Secondly... Dazzla, Shellstyle looks great, anyway by chance that you could, when its minimized, have a single pixel that kinda "completes" the bottom, so to speak.  Otherwise it looks like it should be running on into infinity.  If not, mind telling me how I might go about changing this myself? :)

Anyway, kudos to all involved, this is great.  I had just switched back to Window's Default Luna in Silver, but now I'm back to a non-MS themed windows :)  Also, a Silver would be AWESOME :)

P.S.  I have been a member for years, but rarely post, it takes a great theme to actually get me to post :)

Again, agreed :D I never have it minimised but it looks stupid when minimised otherwise. Here's an update:

I had this problem before I really knew anything about patching UXTHEME.DLL. Had to patch it correctly and then the problem went away.

Try the newest patcher or insanekiwi's guide to replacing it. Check his signature for it.

Make sure you switch to another theme before completing the steps listed below so the theme can be fully unloaded and reloaded.

Install the shellstyle by replacing the old shellstyle in the C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\Element\Shell\whateverstyeyouareusing\ folder. In those folders you'll see the shellstyle.dll file. Rename it to shellstyle.old or back it up however you see fit.

Extract the new one in all folders or whatever folder you are currently wanting to apply the shellstyle to. This will show you the new style you see previewed in this thread.

Let us know how it works for ya. ;)

Just thought I'd post a quick shot of my slightly customized look. It's nothing special, but it helps complete that feel of "compactness", that is if you're like me and are running the compact style.. I changed the font name and size, size more importantly to 8pt font. It makes the buttons smaller, and looks wonderful.

The second image, is a 1920x1200 version of the Luna Element bg I found somewhere that I quickly threw together.

The background can be found here (right-click and save as). It's stored as a 6 MB BMP for quality.

Cheers! :woot:

BMP is the best format for using wallpapers on Windows. In fact, its the only format that XP will understand and use as a wallpaper. Any JPG, GIF, or PNG you set as the wallpaper must first be converted into BMP format first. That's why when you set a JPG, or PNG as the wallpaper, it takes longer for it to appear than if you just set a BMP of the proper resolution.

So, its just faster for the system to use. And also, the space savings resulting from using PNG/JPG/GIF are nullified because WindowsXP makes a copy of the image and saves it in BMP format in its wallpaper folder.

I knew some of this information, but I've never put them together to create this theory. Thanks for clearing that up

Can you remove the 1px space between the scrollbar and the edge of the screen when a window is maximized?

Makes me have to think when scrolling down webpages, ect.

Me, too. That way, you don't have to "aim" for the scrollbar in Firefox for example...

Edit: Oops, sorry em3! I just read your answer to this problem.

    • Wow, Microsoft IS cooking lately... This only shows that they COULD improve, they just chose not to for whatever reasons. That obsession with AI was destroying them from the inside out.

It closes the remaining gaps with qBittorrent and fixes the Windows settings/tray/splash issues several of you hit. Fixed Settings now actually save. A whole class of preferences — speed limits (and the alternative limits), max active downloads, seed ratio, listen port, max connections, DHT/uTP/encryption, VPN interface, kill switch and proxy — weren't being persisted and reset to defaults on every launch. They now round-trip correctly. (Thanks to everyone who reported "the upload limit always goes back to 0".) Splash and tray toggles stick on Windows. Turning off the startup animation (or "close to tray") no longer reverts — the Windows registry stored these booleans as integers and the UI was misreading them. Close-to-tray hint. The first time the window hides to the tray you get a one-time notification, so the app doesn't look like it vanished (Windows 11 tucks new tray icons into the overflow). macOS Dock icon size. The icon filled its canvas edge-to-edge and rendered larger than neighbouring apps; it now uses the standard safe-area padding. Native file picker language. The "Torrent file / All files" filter in the open dialog follows the app language instead of being hard-coded. Added — qBittorrent parity Alternative speed limits toggle — a turtle button in the toolbar flips your throttled limits on/off instantly, independent of the scheduler. Follow system theme — switch light/dark automatically with the OS (Settings → Appearance). Pre-allocate disk space — reserve the full file size up front to reduce fragmentation (Settings → Downloads). Recheck data on add — optionally force a hash check when adding a torrent, so existing or partial files on disk are detected. Port status indicator — a 🔴 dot in the status bar shows whether your listen port looks reachable (UPnP/NAT-PMP + listen state; fully local, no external check). Add torrent from URL — File → Add torrent from URL (Ctrl+U) fetches a remote .torrent and routes it through the normal add dialog. Export .torrent — right-click a torrent → Export .torrent to save its metadata file. Already there (in case you missed it) Watch folder — auto-add .torrent files dropped into a monitored directory (Settings → Files). This release just surfaces it. Incomplete files already carry a .!bt suffix until they finish. Under the hood Regression tests for the settings-persistence and Windows boolean bugs. A new Qt Quick Test harness covering the startup splash and the design-system widgets. • Disabling open on hover, great! That was so stupid! They need to do a fix, where if a network share is disconnected, it doesn't hang when opening "This PC" for 20 seconds.
