So this is the device that will enable wi-fi for the DS if you do not have a wireless router\modem\what-not. I wonder if this is going to be used for the Revolution also:

Yea, it probably will be supported for Revolution also. I guess Revoltion will support the same standard as DS (802.11g).

Yes the DS has 802.11b, however the Revolution could be optionally 802.11g. Just because g is backwards compatible with b. So the USB Adapter could be 802.11g. Anyways look at it this way, it could be the only one of these that isn't over priced, or inlcudes a friggin rebate.

If it requires the computer to be on, I guess it's better to just buy a wireless router (my opinion at least)

Yep, the dongle is using 802.11g. They simply partnered with Buffalo to release a rebranded version of an existing product.

wait i dont get it, is the revolution going to have built in 802.11g so i can use it with my wireless router?

and how would i access my secured network throught the rev?

oh yea how are people going to be paying for previous titles, and about how much will they cost?

Yes.

No details about that yet.

Probably credit card like iTunes. No one knows the price yet for the games.

Now I don't know if this has been mentioned before...but, The DVD Add-on now comes with the Revolution as standard (i.e. no need to buy an extra dongle). According to the first post, it says you'll need an extra, which is now un-true :)

But, thanks a million for the absolutely fantastic compilation of Revo facts and rumours! Certaintly handy :D

Now that I've seen the Revo's controller, do you know what I'd love? 2 things come to mind - 1) MP3 become an online FPS (so it can go out with a bang, and this controller was made for FPS practically). 2) Wario Ware Revolution! It started with the Gamecube, then came the DS version, which was wacky and fun, then came the GBA Version which was equally wacky, but imagine the Revo version!! So much un-tapped potential... *drool*

On the topic of the controller specifically though, while I do love it to bits, what Nintendo needs to do is show the world WHY this is here, WHY this is Revolutionary, and not just innovation for innovation's sake. And do this using the launch titles. I heard Super Mario 128, SSBR and MP3 are all launch titles (SSBR and MP3 at least). These two are great games, so they should be able to do this right easily. I heard the Revo is desgned around Mario 128, so expect great things.

On top of that, I heard Nintendo is also ditching polys for a brand new type of graphic, one that allows for easier design on lower end specs but can produce fantastic results. For example, they're saying that the Revo (despite its obvious lower specs) can and will look as good as X-Box 360 graphics. While I'm not GFX > everything else, pretty GFX is a nice cherry on the top and keeps GFX ###### at bay :D

Well...that's all for now :)

Where did you hear this from?

Actually it started with the first GBA version. Then came the GameCube one.

Yes please, where indeed? (this is an actual question, no sarcasm)

It was on IGN somewhere. I would try to search for it, but due to the gaming websites being stubborn a**holes and not making an official revolution thread, it'd be almost impossible searching for it.

But I'll try.

    • Seems like Neowin has transitioned into being simps for the white house. I can't find a review for the last UFC games that came out.
