[Definitive] Nintendo Wii Thread

Recommended Posts

I never did get a Gamecube, though I do have a game or two for it. After getting my DS and a few games to go along with it, I really want to get the revolution. Why? Cause I was just reminded how fun Nintendo's games are. If the Rev doesn't come out soon enough, I may just get a Cube to pass the time.

i thought I'd buy an Xbox, but now I'm thinking if all three were released I'd get a revolution.

I always do get all three, but this time I think I'll wait til there is a price drop.

Then there's word that the revolution wont even look the way it is shown. But I really hope they dont change it too much because it's sexy.

Now regarding the controller's 'secret' I think it'll be that nerve feedback thing that samsung was working on (i think it was samsung) Like when you are using it as a sword, and you hit a shield, it sends a signal that tricks your body into thinking there actually is something stopping or blocking you. (its just a logical guess, (however unlikely it may be))

That would be SO COOL.

I'm not going to get hyped up over this, and hopefully that'll make the announcement that much better. I set myself up to be disappointed when the showed off the controller (I know, you'll think it looks great, but for some reason I expected something much more which I guess was unreasonable). Hopefully I too will be blown away and persuaded not to drop Nintendo altogether

Well, I already am in-love with the controller. It brings a completey fresh feel to gaming that was long overdue. I don't need for their to be anything more, but if there is, bring it on. I can't see how they can screw it up. Some people don't agree with the concept as it stands, but as long as they try it out, and the games for it are good I think many people will be won over by this new style of gaming :D

Edit: WoW duel-wielding Rogue... 2H warrior... Hunter - AIMSHOT (headshot) CRIT... mmmmmmmm...

why would you get a game for a gamecube if you dont even have one?

Was afraid that if I didn't get the game then, I would never be able to get my hands on it (cheaply, that is).

Zelda: WW, and the OoT Bonus disc. Mainly more so for the bonus disc.

That would kick all kinds of ass :D

Good call on that, I had to pick up my copy second hand. :(

That would kick all kinds of ass :D

But would never happen, as it sounds incredibly expensive. ;)

YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST!

Hello and thank you for contacting Nintendo,

We appreciate your interest in our next home console, code-named Nintendo Revolution. Please note, however, that the information that you asked about has yet to be announced. We plan to release more information about the system by the end of the year, which may include details about the games or the final name of the system. For the latest information on the Nintendo Revolution, please visit:

Have fun!

This a message from Nintendo I got after sending them an e-mail asking how many online games will be released. Expect a christmas treat ^_^

Goody goody goody! :D I'm pretty sure this is new news, but please delete if it isn't. I doubt this will be controller info, mind you.

I hope Nintendo's big secret is that they will reveal their will to compete against Sony and M$ because upto now I dont think ive seen it, ................. even in development! :p hehehehe

Let's just put this silly argument to bed shall we:

? Nintendo Revolution is a gaming console.

? Xbox 360 and PS 3 are also game consoles.

? Most people who buy any of the above 3 are doing it primarily for gaming.

? Alot of people will only buy 1 console.

Of course they are competing. They are taking a different approach to gaming than the xbox and ps3, and they're hoping it pays off. I don't understand why people are saying they aren't competing.

Good call on that, I had to pick up my copy second hand. :(

thats the technology I was talking about, and there is another one which is a bit more extreme.

It's called Haptics.

i think this approch can only be successful partially if the system will suck. If the system is going to rule than telling us the hardware now and showing off awesome capabilities little by little would create a huge amount of hype.

hyping your console is an art. trickling information to the public slowly creates media buzz and consumer hype. If your periodically release information about your product it makes sure you're always being talked about. nintendo understands this.

I'm grabbing a Nintendo DS for christmas I have a feeling that it's the "Next-Gen" portable console along with the Revolution. Im definately, very excited for the Revolution. I'm buying it. I've never even been a hardcore Nintendo fan..

Speaking of which... maybe the secret is some crazy type of DS-revolution connectivity. They said the secret is about the controller, but they might have a few other tricks up their sleeves.

yes but not when:

1 one of the competitors released the console

2 the others going to in half a year, with a full presentation at ces in a month

3 nintendo only released information about a controller thats different than the rest, and claims to bring a revolution to gaming

Nintendo is Nintendo. They're not in the "Console Wars", so Miyamoto doesn't care if the X360 is out. Nintendo has always stayed out of that fight and has always come out with a tidy profit.

besides, buying an X360 or a PS3 doesn't preclude you from getting a Revolution.

You do know that a AMD CPU, at the exact same clock speed as an INTEL CPU, will completely destroy the Intel offering right? So what? Maybe the MHz and Bandwidth are less than the alternatives, that's how Nintendo saves money. You should also know that in the past Nintendo has been able to make the cpus and gpus used in their consoles INCREDIBLY efficient compared to the sony and xbox offering.

Nintendo Gamecube was clocked at 485MHz

XBox was clocked at 733 MHz

Compare RE4 or Metroid Prime: Echoes to any of xbox's offerings and it's hard to tell which console can put out better graphics. Nintendo has proved in the past the big ol' spec-penis battle doesn't prove sh*t. Yet here we are again having the same conversation 5 years later. People simply don't learn.

Someone on another forum had a really good ideal what the "secret" is they keep talking about. Don't know if someone ever brought up this ideal before on Neowin.

Basically you can purchase and download 20 years of Nintendo's games from all its systems and it will store it on the Revolution's 512MB flash card. Well the secret is that they are going to reveal the next generation of the GameBoy. The new GameBoy will be able to use the same flash cards as the Revolution and the new GameBoy will have the ability to play the games you purchased with the Revolution. So you could either play the old games you purchased on the Revolution or take them on the go with you with the new GameBoy.

I just creamed my pants at the thought of that.

    • DriversCloud 12.1.6 by Razvan Serea With DriversCloud (formerly My-Config.com), you can explore your computer easily, safely and free. The application quickly scans your PC and identifies the hardware and software components. DriversCloud then establishes a list of the different drivers compatible with your OS and hardware. Download the drivers needed for the proper functioning of your computer. To detect your drivers, DriversCloud also displays a detailed summary of your hardware and software configuration, analyzes your BSOD, monitors in real-time your PC voltages and temperatures and lets you share your configuration online. Once the hardware components have been detected, you will be able to obtain with just a few clicks the latest drivers corresponding to the identified hardware. You can record your configuration on the site for free, and can get the corresponding URL to post the configuration to technical forums, e-mail and social networks. You can also download the detection result (the configuration) as a PDF file. To protect the user's privacy and data confidentiality, a 4-level confidentiality system was created that filters the XML marks and gives control to the user. The default level can be modified in the preferences. Using the maximum level will prevent the user from publishing his configuration and generating a corresponding PDF file. In non-connected mode, each XML configuration is stored on the server for one day (for practical reasons). However, you are given the opportunity to manually delete it. Created in 2004, and continually improved, My-Config.com has established itself on the web as a free service to PC users running Windows and Linux operating systems. The service is designed to work with the most common Internet browsers (Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Safari).
