People pay a lot of money to attend the WWDC. I see why they wouldn't just offer the keynote for free to everyone, makes those inside feel a little more special. :p

I am surprised the apple store is sitll up. If it doesn't close before the keynote starts, I wouldn't expect new products being released today.

They did but demand has outstripped capacity, and to up their capacity would cost a lot more money than they're willing to invest.
