Normally, I use Maxthon as my main browser here at work.  It handles tabs the best in my opinion.  Double click the bar and it creates a new tab, double click the tab and it closes.  I can get used to the middle click, but I'd rather double click to close.

Same with avant......but i put that up for the tards bitching about the missing "x" button. don't they even bother trying other options.

Haha, i hear ya. actually i dont think i meant to quote you. just clicked the wrong button or something.

it's weird how people forget that using software is all based on cause and effect. not sure what a button does? click it. Generally, within a few tries, you'll figure it out.

edit:

to other people having trouble with installing it: The way I did it was explained in the other thread for using IE7 without installing. you need a way to extract the file to a folder,*winrar*, delete one of the files, a folder, and create one new file. works like a champ.

:p you're not kidding, that's generally how i learn most things (and how i sometimes break them too, but that's all part of learning :p .)

As an aside, if anyone decides to uninstall the i.e.7 beta, it unistalls (well, rolls back to your previous version of i.e) perfectly well & cleanly (short of leaving the additional favourites it adds and the link in the system tools menu.)

IE works if you double click to make a new tab...

and just middle click to close the tabs.

When you select a favourite it opens in the same page unless you create a new tab first. That bugged me, so i uninstalled it. The "create a tab THEN add the contect" idea is a really bad one.

It is and improvement over the older version, but some things like the location of the toolbars and the akwardness of the Refresh/Stop button are frustrating  . The RSS read functinality is also good, but could be improved as it doesnt display new entries in the Favorites menu like Firefox. And here is a result of the Acid2 Test:

IE7

Firefox 1.06

Deer Park Alpha 2

Opera 8.02 (Just adding another comparison)

where exactly?

Tools, Internet options, security, select internet, select custom, scroll down to scripting and disable active scripting. restart the browser. Just remember that IE needs this for some websites to work (like Windows Update) so you will have to re-enable it for those sites.

    • Yes for me, I installed 'old calculator' (Windows 7 calculator) in its place since it is more useful to me. I think paint is the only one I left installed
