Pretty comfortable position isn't it?

Now imagine that you are on the opposite end of this spectrum..... your out there..... risking your life everyday so the average Joe Schmo can live their life in relative safety. You would be pretty ****ed off at the public if you were trying to do your job (which in policing involves physical altercations) and was ridiculed at when using force to stop someone from potentially harming yourself and fellow officers.

This isn't police brutality...... that would be smoking the offender's cranium off of a car multiple times and then proceeding to assault the offender with a nightstick.

I'm sure that most people would trade a bruised head for the knowledge of being safe. I know I would.

Just my 2 cents.

the prblem with a case like this is that the media only presents the facts the make the story interesting. creating a huge out cry and basically convicting the cops before the trial. i'm not saying the cops where right, i doubt they where. but you can't just trust everything the media shoves down your throat

Damn straight.

Have you heard about the "excessive use of force"...???

Sure you need some force to control the subject, but no smash his/her head when the situation is controlled.

FYI, I have cops in my family, high range.

They shoot people who lunge at them many times if they feel threatened. I think a bullet is more force than slamming the kids head. He is lucky he didnt get shot and/or pepper sprayed.

As it's pre-judged that if the cop is white skinned and the suspect is black it's called racism, even if both didn't do anything. C'mon that's plain bull****.

Did you even read the article on CNN and the quote I posted before you say this kind of things?

Of course you ignored it... how typical!

And, how do you know for sure, the kid was being disrespectful and rude?

Seems like pre-judged to me :right:

NO. The Cop has no right to beat an Unarmed 'Retarded' Kid, especially after he was already cuffed. NOT WHATSOEVER!

well unless the cop was psycho im sure he doesnt just beat up people for nothing? did he just become an officer? how long has he been on the force? has he ever shown behavior like this before? what went on that day or in the past week that could have effected him? was the kid acting like an ass and just really pressed the guys buttons?

yes, the cop didnt have a right to assault or beat up the kid but im just trying to say that he is human, humans make mistakes even if they are cops. im not trying to justify his actions. yes, he should be punished appropirately but it shouldnt blow up as a race thing until you know the guys background as an officer and a person.

actually im almost sure if the guy was white we probably would not of heard anything about it. everybody is trying to blame everyone for racism nowadays, when the most discrimination probably happens to the white male. Affirmative action etc all are against the white male.

As far as watching the videos goes, find a story you like on cnn, go to msnbc and watch the video :)

I am ALL for cops beaten up real criminals who killed someone before, or raped a girl, or burned someone's house, regardless of age.

But what did this kid do?

You people are saying the media is biased, but give me a break, just because you don't think the cop is bad you say that.

If there is anyone who has access faster to the kids's past criminal record, it's the MEDIA. So, how come nothing has been said about the Kid?

The only crime appears to me is that the kid is a PASSENGER to a car that is expired, but that has nothing to do the kid, because he ain't the one dring. It was his father's car (also beaten), and the kid himself is RETARDED!!!

Well...I think it's an issue in cases other than this one. Almost everytime something goes down between a white cop and a black person it's considered "racially motivated" (so long as it hits the media).

Maybe the kid's history makes the story less appealing. Hard to say really, there is quite a lack of facts. Plus, does it ever say the kid was "mentally retarded" or just in special classes?

You dont have to have a criminal record to do something wrong. If you lunge at a police officer, expect to get knocked out or shot at.

no one is claiming to know the cop as a good guy

infact we dont know who the cop is or who the kid is which is why this is so retarded

the only thing we do know is that someone got beat up and its blowing up because the kid was black. that is the medias doing, and they only did it to stir up trouble.

we have no idea who the kid is and what his attitude was like or who the cop is so to criticize either of them is kinda wrong

he was said to have lunged at the officer and cause the physical altercation, hey, we will see what the jury has to decide, personally, i don't blame a cop for being a little rough with someone who started the physical altercation (if that is what happned). Those guys risk their lives daily out there.

I completely agree. If the kid attacked police officers I am completely with the officer for striking back. And just coincidentally there is a person there with a video camera who turns it on just to see the officer assaulting the little boy. I actually am very tired of the leniency in the system and this idea that officers of the law have to be restricted in dealing physical blows to the criminal. I am not saying that the boy did attack officers, since I am not sure about the evidence, but when a person attacks an officer, the officer should be allowed to strike back with whatever force he deems reasonable at the time. If this kid actually attacked an officer than he deserved everything he got, 'cause i bet now he will never assault an officer again.

I wouldn't know if this is comparable to Rodney's ride, but it does remind me of it. King is driving pumped up on drugs, he gets pulled over by some officers and he attacked them. I think he got what he deserved for attacking officers. But again somebody films only the officers striking, making Mr. King seem like the victim. The case becomes a big race struggle and everyone forgets that this guy attacked officers and they struck back. I do not think that the officers used excessive force, I think it was perfectly reasonable.

Well, I read through this whole tread so far, and I have a few things to say:

1. Jedi-x, people are asking your age because of the things you post. No offense, but you don't seem to have a firm grasp on sentence structure or the use of caps.

2. I for one have enormous respect for police officers. I am waiting to go to college so that I can take the law enforcement course offered. I think the people that put down police are trash. I'd like to see any one of them step into an officer's life for a week, then see what they have to say. Officers risk their lives EVERY day to give you the confidence to walk down your street without the fear of being shot at.

Well, I am offended because I think a bunch of you are already madeup your mind the Cop is not a racist, even though he may or may not!

Second, I think myself being very intelligent, very intuitive, and I don't care what you think of me. It's very pitiful to me, that I am judged young/immature/naive just because you don't agree with me that this cop is obviously not a racist, whatever happened to respect?

Can't I have an opinion this cop may in fact may be a racist? Oh I can't? If I think that way, then I am an idiot?!

Please :right:

If you don't have respect for someone else have a different opinion than yours, please DON'T become a cop! I beg you!!! I want all cops to be fair-minded, and respect people's opinion, and not be ignorant about things!

Yeah, I think he mentioned your lack of gramatical structure, which is highlighted here. But I only care because I'm an English major :p

At least there's no l33t spelling around here.

I think your points, on the other hand, are quite valid.

That's really strange, I don't recall saying anything about WHAT you had said, only HOW you said it.

Can't I have an opinion this cop may in fact may be a racist? Oh I can't? If I think that way, then I am an idiot?!

Again, not what you said, how you said it.

And finally, not what you said, how you said it.

"Family members said Donovan -- who attends special education classes -- has a hearing problem and a speech impediment and is sometimes slow to react, but that he would have been unlikely to provoke police. "

1. hearing problem

2. Speech impediment

3. slow to react

Not your average boy, he may not be 100% retard/stupid, but we do call people slow retarded sometimes, don't we?

Regardless the outcome of the case, you can rest assured this much will be true......there is going to be another negative mark against the White population of that city, and more than likely the entire US.

Not only will your tax dollars provide this guy with an 'instant lotto' type settlement, but every time he sees one of us 'WhiteDevils', you know he'll be thinking he got the best of us and our juducial system.

Now maybe the coloured community will riot and repeat the animal-like behaviour that occured during the Rodney King incident. Remember that ? .... They destroyed their own neighbourhoods, and what did we do .... we built them a new one from scratch. Way to go guys !!!

And in closing I say this.... God Bless the USI and congratulations on another great piece of media trash!

I see people in here talk of peace and getting along .... this will NEVER happen until we abolish the biggest emeny of all .... The ZOG and JudenMedia.

Enough 'said.

nagaina

the los angeles riots werent about rodney king at all, they were about having a reason to go out and do whatever the hell they wanted. who would wanna trash their OWN neighborhood just because of some person they didnt even know getting beat up by a cop? its ridiculous because when you wake up in the morning and your stores are burnt down and everything is stolen out of them these people will feel like idiots because they will have no where to go to get the **** they need unless its across town and along the way risk having their car vandalized.

    • Ocenaudio 3.19.5 by Razvan Serea Ocenaudio is a full featured, fast and easy to use audio and music editor. It is the ideal software for people who need to edit and analyze audio files without complications. Ocenaudio also has powerful features that will please more advanced users. To assist ocenaudio development, a powerful toolset of audio editing, analysis and manipulation called Ocen Framework was created. ocenaudio is also based on Qt framework, a well known library for cross-platform development. Cross-platform support ocenaudio is available for all major operating systems: Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. Native applications are generated for each platform from a common source, in order to achieve excelent performance and seamless integration with the operating system. All versions of ocenaudio have a uniform set of features and the same graphical interface, so the skills you learn in one platform can be used in the others. VST plugins support Ocenaudio supports VST (Virtual Studio Technology) plugins, giving its users access to numerous effects. Like the native effects, VST effects can use real-time preview to aide configuration. Real-time preview of effects Applying effects such as EQ, gain and filtering is an important part of audio editing. However, it is very tricky to get the desired result by adjusting the controls configuration alone: you must listen the processed audio. To ease the configuration of audio effects, ocenaudio has a real time preview feature: you hear the processed signal while adjusting the controls. The effect configuration window also includes a miniature view of the selected audio signal. You can navigate on this miniature view in the same way as you do on the main interface, selecting parts that interest you and listening to the effect result in real time. Multiselection for delicate editions To speed up complex audio files editing, ocenaudio includes multi-selection. With this amazing tool, you can simultaneously select different portions of an audio file and listen, edit or even apply an effect to them. For example, if you want to normalize only the excerpts of an interview where the interviewee is talking, just select them and apply the effect. Eficient edition of large files With ocenaudio, there is no limit to the length or the quantity of the audio files you can edit. Using an advanced memory management system, the application keeps your files open without wasting any of your computer's memory. Even in files several hours long, common editing operations such as copy, cut or paste happen almost instantly. Fully featured spectrogram Besides offering an incredible waveform view of your audio files, ocenaudio has a powerful and complete spectrogram view. In this view, you can analyze the spectral content of your audio signal with maximum clarity. Advanced users will be surprised to find that the spectrogram settings are applied in real time. The display is updated immediately when altering features such as the number of frequency bands, window type and size and dynamic range of the display. Ocenaudio 3.19.5 changelog: Fixes crashes related to audio devices on Windows (DirectSound and ASIO) Fixes several crashes and memory corruption issues Fixes opening several headerless files at once, which previously dropped all but one Improves batch export by suggesting and remembering the destination folder Fixes accented and non-Latin characters in VST plug-in and compressed-archive file names Adds zstd compression support and updates the archive library Other bug fixes and improvements Download: Ocenaudio 64-bit | Portable | ~40.0 MB (Freeware) Download: Ocenaudio for Linux and Mac OS View: Ocenaudio Homepage | Screenshot Get alerted to all of our Software updates on Twitter at @NeowinSoftware
    • I did think about a Echo show once and it would be useful to see what my cameras see. But my brother got one and I changed my mind. Adverts and not really worth the price just to see my cameras. I have a load of dots and a Echo Gen 4, they will do.
    • I asking where you are from or live, because if you don't live in the U.K, why are you so bothered? That is another reason I voted out, E.U and people poking their noses in where they should not be. Sadly we still have it, Trump, and his cronies. Putin as well and no doubt others. It makes no difference what we believe, if we made the right choice or not, we are out. As I said to someone when the news first broke we have voted out, we just need to make the best of it. I have no problems with closer ties to the E.U, we still need to trade. Just don't want to be in their club.
    • So you think I voted out because i am anti-immigrant. I am fed up with those that come over and think that we owe them something. The ones that are at the moment coming over from France where they are already in a safe country because they think and no doubt will get everything chucked at them. While people who were born and bred here get very little. I have nothing against as i have said before those that come here and work. In fact I know full well that our NHS would struggle without them. I do have a problem with those that come over here and try to push their religion and their way of life onto us. My reasons for voting out was because of what the E.U is and is also becoming. I did not agree with Freedom of movement, not because I don't want people over here, but because people need to be checked before being allowed to cross borders and that goes both ways. But my main thing was because the E.U is becoming if not already a united states of Europe. The only reason countries like Poland and Romania joined was because they had no money. When my partner left Poland, she had nothing, Poland had nothing, that is why she left. Wanted to learn something and earn a living. The E.U would have us back according to Michel Barnier. https://www.euronews.com/my-eu...ator-barnier-tells-euronews Why are you so scared to say what country you are in?
    • I wonder what that line really meant...
