I'm not a Flames fan, I just have a bias to defencemen. I know that Ovechkin is a great player, likely a future Hall-of-Famer, but I hate how little attention Phaneuf has received while he has done so well. I do agree that Ovechkin deserves the Norris, however. But I don't want to concentrate on one player; Ovechkin, Crosby, Phaneuf, Svatos, Lundqvist, Meszaros and more will help shape the league. Very exciting.

I think you mean the Calder. Phaneuf could have a legitmate shot at winning the Norris though . And Crosby, Phaneuf, Svatos, Prucha, Meszaros are getting their dues respectively. Maybe not on American media so much, but these players have been making a name for themselves and anyone with half an insight on hockey know these names alongside Ovechkin thats for sure.

Wow what a goal... that was impressive.

Bah my Dallas Stars are playing like crap lately. Turco, can't stop a thing wtf is up with him all of a sudden. And Niinimaa has only added some extra penalty mins to the club, thx for nothing, and i thought the islanders fans we exaggerating about him lol :pinch:

Could have been that big contract he signed, but if im not mistaken isnt Turco comming off some kind of knee or groin injury? Those things take a while to recover and can spontaneously re-appear with a slight aggrivation. Lets give him the benefit of the doubt. Hopefully he doesnt end up like Theodore. But i do recall hearing or reading about Turco playing injured.

Yup, congrats. Even though I'm a flames fan. :shiftyninja:

P.S.

We will mop up the floors with you guys if we meet in the

playoffs. :pacifier:

Well, perhaps. We shall see haha. Either way, it's been an incredible season and I never fail to be impressed by Eric Staal. I love that kid. So much for hockey not lasting in NC like they said just earlier this year. Raleigh is obsessed with hockey, though I admit there are quite a number of fair weather fans, though each year they do well, the number of people who become true fans increases rapidly. Lots of these people didn't know anything about hockey until just recently :p

Sorry, you're right, the Calder. My mind must have been really scrambled yesterday. :D

Well the NHL is back after that horrid 2 week Olympic break;

Also, there has been a new NHL rule change.

Beginning tonight pucks fired directly over the glass in the defensive zone are no longer an automatic two minute minor. If a puck is deflected, batted or gloved over the glass and the referee deems it unintentional, it is no longer a penalty.

Also, all sticks will be measured before shooters take part in the shootout. If a stick is illegal, its owner is sent back to the bench for a legal stick.

I looked at the Olympics as a 2 week break from the NHL. So refreshing to see great hockey again. As for the rule change, common sense has finally taken hold on the NHL officials.

Anybody want a Leaf?

You can have anybody outside of Kyle Wellwood, Alex Steen, Mats Sundin, Alex Ponikarovsky, Darcy Tucker and Tomas Kaberle.

Anyone?

Going cheap...

Canucks in return? Brendan Morrison is quickly becoming trade material, and although the Canucks would hate to get rid of a highly paid, underachieving winger (although I prefer, 'damaged goods') named Todd Bertuzzi, getting rid of him might be a relief.

Highly paid, underachieving winger? We'll take him as he'll fit in with the team nicely.

LOL fred; in all honesty who in their right minds would take up any Leafs besides the ones you mentioned? Man, they're like 3-17 in their last 20 or something arent they? Well all I can say is that Montreal was in that boat not too long ago, so welcome to the club.

How about Theodore? Anyone want him? It wouldn't hurt to save $5.3m in cap space. Huet, at 20 games is statiscally the best goalie in the NHL right now with a .929 SV% and a 2.25 GAA.

Damn. I've been cheering for the Leafs all season and they go and win the one game (against Montreal) that I wanted them to lose.

Yes, statistically we have not been eliminated but we'll need to win some 15 or the next 22 games to get the eigth spot.

I'd be happier if we traded McCabe, Antropov, Belfour or anyone of value and went for a decent first round pick next year. Now, unfortunately, there is a glimmer of hope.

Trade Jeff O'Neil for a bag of pucks (he's -20 or something) and if. anyone wanted Jason Allison then I wouldn't ask much more in return. And what's with Domi? Lowsy season (even for his skills) and he's not fighting anyone.

The last thing I want is for us to end up ninth, get a lowsy pick (after the top 10) and then lose McCabe to free agency. That would suck.

Trade McCabe now to a contender for something (or someone) and, if you really like the guy, then rehire him in the summer for next year. Rent him out.

I hear Bertuzzi might go to Ottawa for either Chara or Redden (add in minor players or draft picks on either side). This has made me quite happy.

I haven't heard that, that would be fricking awesome!!!!

I'd love to see Bertuzzi go. I'm tired of reading newspapers that place him as a second star of the game without justification. Four teams apparently want him, including Ottawa or Philadelphia. Ottawa's Redden or Chara has been rumoured becaues after this year, they will only be able to keep one.

    • OpenAI is rolling out a major upgrade to ChatGPT memory by Pradeep Viswanathan OpenAI is rolling out a major upgrade to ChatGPT's memory, making the system more capable, current, and scalable across long-term use. Memory allows ChatGPT to remember useful details about users, including their preferences, projects, and constraints. Instead of starting every conversation from scratch, ChatGPT can use this context to provide more relevant responses in future chats. OpenAI first launched saved memories in February 2024. That feature allowed users to explicitly ask ChatGPT to save information into its memory, such as travel plans or writing preferences. However, this system had limits because it depended heavily on users giving clear instructions to remember something. Additionally, saved memories could become stale over time. In April 2025, OpenAI expanded memory by allowing ChatGPT to reference past chat context outside the saved memories list. This was powered by a background process called “dreaming,” which automatically curates memories from chat history. This made ChatGPT better at learning from natural conversation without requiring users to manually save every detail. Today, OpenAI announced a more capable and compute-efficient memory architecture built on top of dreaming. This new system improves ChatGPT’s ability to carry forward useful context, follow user preferences, and remain accurate as time passes. According to OpenAI’s internal evaluations, the new system improves factual recall from 67.9% in 2025 to 82.8% in 2026. Preference adherence improves from 55.3% to 71.3%, while accuracy over time improves from 52.2% to 75.1%. The best part of this new system is a new memory summary page where users can review ChatGPT's memories. Users can even update details, correct information, or give instructions on what topics ChatGPT should bring up and when. This new, improved memory system is available to ChatGPT Plus and Pro users in the US starting today. It will roll out to more countries, as well as Free and Go users, in the coming weeks.
    • I work for a video production company in Australia. The camera operators shoot footage and then pass the SD card over to the editors. Much easier than handing over the entire camera. Plus, on a busy day you can hand off the SD card and then pop another in for the next shoot. Or, you might have used multiple SD cards because you need the extra space for a long shoot. I also use USB cables and wifi for transferring footage, but in many cases an SD card reader is the easiest method.
