Name changes: You can change your display name

Recommended Posts

To all changing their display names... do not include special characters such as ?'s, ?'s , other characters not found on a standard keyboard, etc...

Changing your name to ones with special characters cause problems with some browsers when PMing or quoting somebody. If it is found that you have changed your name to one with a special character in it, then the name change will be reversed. This also goes for new registrations too... don't include special characters in your name.

AlWarned members who changed their names will have their names reverted back to their original/b>. We do not allow members who have had warns to change their name. If you continue to change the names after being told not to or have had one reversed, then you will be warned or restrcited.

Thats all.

Wait. If you have any warn what-so-ever you cant change your name? I think that is a bit excessive and unncessary. What is the reasoning behind this? If there is any at all.

Yes.. any warn.

Reasoning??? Yes... it serves as punishment not to break any other rules. It also serves as an example to others to not break any rules.

What if you've been warned and your warning has gone to 0 since the warning level reduction system?

If you were warned previously but now have a zero warn level then you can change your name.

The warn rules applies to members who have active warns on their accounts (can see visible red squares on their warn level)

Also this policy has been in place for over a year... nothing has really changed except that IPB lets users change their names now. We will eventually mod the system with our rules.

I know see why so many people complain about the excessive length of time it takes for warning levels to go down.

So what happens to Radish?

Edited by GoogleNinja

So what happens to Radish?

He had his nick before the change so I don't think it really counts does it? This is only for members who changed their name after the switch to the new IPB. But I could be wrong.

edit: Damn you Pimp, you beat me to it.

  • 1 month later...

Radish? is grandfathered, as his nick was Radish? since before the rule was instated. I believe there are other members with ?'s in their name since before the rule was added also.

While I realise that Radish has had his name for forever and a day I would have thought that since he's a mod and all he would have changed his name to allow anyone to PM him etc.

    • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, Flip 8, Z Fold Wide: Everything you need to know The ONLY thing I need to know is the price, which I know will be way higher than I (and most people) are willing to pay for a phone... so basically nothing here I need to know. PS: Nice job getting that Apple reference to a non-existent and unrevealed product as "competition" in there. Cheque is in the mail.
