man I can't wait till this becomes fully completed and rounded to just having to put a cd and boot up and create the partitions and install the loaders for XP and Vista.

That would be sweet. The more I see this the more I want a Macbook Pro

Or not, dont you think microsoft would have shut down the site if the modifications were illegal?

And yet, do you really think narf would dare release illegal files?

According to Microsoft every form of system file modification is illegal. It was posted a while back, so he's right.

Microsoft does tends to look the other way when it comes to this tho.

and that would be illegal

Yes and no. I think that if you're doing this in a way that is going to promote piracy, then MS would be upset and pull the illegal card on you and shut down your operations. The fact of the matter is that OEM computer manufacturers often have modified system files and other stuff on their systems to make them work with their hardware. That's why you have the Dell button in your start menu and other things that manufacturers put in. Microsoft says that modifying files is not permitted because they do not want to support people with hacked uxtheme.dll files and the average joe slipstreamed cd.

Installing Windows on a mac is definately a grey area with respect to the law, but I doubt MS would ever care because that means more sale of Windows and Apple doesn't care because if this is common knowledge then some people who want to boot XP and OSX on one machine are going to buy Apple hardware. The thing is that MS and Apple do not want to support each other's products so they just say "no don't do that" and then their hands are washed.

next thing you know... apple after seeing the potential sucess of this, will later offer windows as well. but apple and microsoft should be happy regarding this news... apple might get growth of sales, and microsoft could potentially get windows installed on a mac.

    • It saddens me when cars are such dull colours now. Mine is bright metallic blue and I absolutely adore it for standing out in contrast to that depressing backdrop of traffic.

    • Get over it, has nothing to do with my point.
    • I really don't like these rounded corners and huge borders in the viewport. They just waste space without anything in return.
