Windows Media Player 11 Beta 2

Recommended Posts

if the User-Mode Driver Framework download/install fails, install manually from link below:

http://download.microsoft.com/download/2/0...-v1.0-WinXP.exe

then retry setup (helped me, at least)!

also, I like the new icons - different for different media types - nice!

I've also made the post over here: https://www.neowin.net/index.php?act=view&a...&cid=485296 before this post was made... But it doesn't matter as long as someone put here :)

But there is still one bug in windows media player 11 beta 2 that hasn't been fixed yet...

When your playing a video right click the screen and go to Video Size.. u'll noticed that "Fit Video To Player on resize" is checked off... you'll need to uncheck that and recheck it to correct the video size..

Yup thanks for the heads up...

Just downloaded and attempted install and have run into a problem tho...

After validation, and accepting the agreement I get the following error message:

On line install required: A required component is not available for download during windows mediaplayer setup. Please connect to the internet and run setup again.

But, I am connected to the internet?

EDIT:

Extracted files thn ran the wmp11.exe then rebooted, and all ok now!

Looks very nice gotta say!

CeNo.

Great update but there is one problem for me. All my chinese songs which are encoded in uhh Unicode doesn't work anymore. Now it just says that "WMP cannot play this file..." Back to foobar for playing those chinese songs. -.-

edit: nvm only some doesn't work... i think it is my tags :s

Still Beta for 2003 server, alltho it is supposed to be supported in the Final build. anyone had any luck installing on Windows Server 2003?

Did you try to extract the .exe file into a folder and run the wmp11.exe... Then reboot.. Then go back into that folder and run wmfdist11.exe? that should work...

Is it ok to install ontop or should I uninstall the old one first? Will I lose my tags on my mp3's and album art if I uninstall?

i've installed over top of the beta1 and didn't have any problems... all of the album art if store in the same folder as your mp3s... An once you start beta 2 up most of your mp3s should reload into the library...

    • Zen Browser 1.20.2b by Razvan Serea Zen Browser is a privacy-focused, open-source web browser built on Mozilla Firefox, offering users a secure and customizable browsing experience. It emphasizes privacy by blocking trackers, ads, and ensuring your data isn't collected. With Zen Mods, users can enhance their browser experience with various customization options, including features like split views and vertical tabs. The browser is designed for efficiency, providing fast browsing speeds and a lightweight interface. Zen Browser prioritizes user control over the browsing experience, offering a minimal yet powerful alternative to traditional web browsers while keeping your online activity private. Zen Browser’s DRM limitation Zen Browser currently lacks support for DRM-protected content, meaning streaming services like Netflix and HBO Max are inaccessible. This is due to the absence of a Widevine license, which requires significant costs and is financially unfeasible for the developer. Additionally, applying for this license would require Zen to be part of a larger company, similar to Mozilla or Brave. Therefore, DRM-protected media won't be supported in Zen Browser for the foreseeable future. Zen Browser offers features that improve user experience, privacy, and customization: Privacy-Focused: Blocks trackers and minimizes data collection. Automatic Updates: Keeps the browser updated with security patches. Zen Mods: Customizable themes and layouts. Workspaces: Organize tabs into different workspaces. Compact Mode: Maximizes screen space by minimizing UI elements. Zen Glance: Quick website previews. Split Views: View multiple tabs in the same window. Sidebar: Access bookmarks and tools quickly. • "This transition will take several years so we shouldn't bother doing it at all" is a naive take. This is completely normal for all specifications that cross-cut software, hardware and multiple industries. Look at the PCI specification for another example, consumers barely have PCI-E 5 yet PCI-SIG is working on PCI-E 8. AV2 will take multiple years to get adoption and even then, even a decade from now people will still have older hardware that doesn't support it. That's fine, because the savings still add up as newer devices add the hardware to deal with it. The goal is never to get 100% on the new spec overnight, but to gradually adopt it.
