Vista RC1 Public Version

I thought Microsoft was planning to release Vista RC1 to the public on the 5th of September? What the heck happened to that? Has it been moved to another day? I checked the forums and there seems to be no questions. Sorry if this has been posted.

Oh really? I read it in some of the topics here on Neowin, I'm too lazy to find it. Haha. I managed to try pre-rc1 and it was actually twice as fast as beta 2, at least for my computer.

I would say at least half the people who have tried to install RC1 have had problems of some sort, so obviously, Microsoft cant release a flaw infested release to the general public...

I have tried at least 12 times to install this, and always get the infamous black screen/flashing cursor at the end, and it never gets any further..Read the posts on the web,and you'll see what I mean..

Well, im not exception, my install went fine, but still, i find it a heavy operating system. Needs a LOT OF TWEAKS.

from all the rumors i heard, Vista RC1 is to be public the same time Office 2007 Beta 2 refresh is to be public; which is Sept 14-15

connect users were told to use beta 2 keys for RC1....

RC1 is more stable than previous release but still many bugs that need to be worked out.

I can't seem to find the link where it says I can retrieve a serial number. I've lost my previous Beta 2 serial as I had accidently formatted my external harddrive. Does anyone know where it is?

atm. I'm getting around 123KBps on a 1Mbps connection, so pretty good atm.

Just hope my USB modem will work on RC1 now lol
