Argh dear god, please, no more freaking GLASS!!!

How about the OS asks you to pick a visual style on first boot (like how vista asks you to pick a wallpaper).

That way there is no arguing over the default one, and MS can make a bunch of styles to suit everyone.

Why? Why more choice? Why not customize your windows after you install it. You only have to do it once.

I'm pretty sure your don't like your phone out-of-the-box. You change your wallpaper, fix some animations and put up your favorite ringtone on it.

MS does do a lot of research on the whole UI topic. The problem is your have to be innovative but your still have to have that Windows feeling to it.

For instance.. i have Vista RC1 on my notebook (big surprise) and showed it to my mother and to my sister. Both of them have years of computer expierence and know XP to the bone. My sister can even install XP on her own.

My mother handed back my notebook after just 2 minutes of fideling with Vista/IE7 when trying to look up some image on the net.

My sister on the other hand was very impressed with Vista and said that she couldn't wait. What she also said that she might have to get some more RAM and that she has like no money and asked if she could borrow some RAM.

But hey that's just my sister ;)

So think twice before we start to bash MS on Vista. They have done a LOT of research on user expierence. Everyone hated WinXP. Now it's the most used OS on the planet. I'm sure Vista won't be any different....

Had a laugh at Whistler back in the days but also with the 4xxx builds of Longhorn (or even 3xxx :x). They looked new and refreshing but we're missing the Windows feeling and didn't feel like "home". In Vista these days I can work. In Longhorn pre-beta's I could not. And that's just the UI/expierence bit. Thus excluding technical failures.

my try, though i kinda got bored and didnt complete it... please tell me what you think.

That would be pretty cool, but I think there always needs to be more too it.....

Hmm, quite nice.. But will it be more practical if the desktop actually show something more useful like live news update other than "Find more about Windows Rome", Securing and updating?

    • Ridiculous claim that the labor cost difference of $6000 annually would increase cost per phone by $200. The employees produce 3 phones per month or what?

    • And I just bought a seat cushion for my mesh chair. The chair feels nice but the first time I sat in it with boxers, I realized I don't like the feel of mesh on my legs. 😂
