I've made another version, i spent about 40mins on this so its in noway my final idea... but i thought i should share it anyways see what you all think.

thats exactly what I was thinking, If I knew photoshop I would of done it too :p, come to think of it, that would be a great GUI for touchscreen monitors. (The Future is Now!) lol

I'm thinking the best course would to use an Office-esque ribbon, replacing the Start bar and Sidebar. When a program is active, it can also have it's own tab, to save people from opening the whole thing up.

Digitalsoft, really, that is THE BEST, no doubt, but I can't see it working with programs. Please show us how it would work with an open program.

Lol quick mock-up i was working on.

This is the login screen were you choose the user and also the prefrence your using the comp for.

For media (i.e. media center), Business or gaming. Each preset is fully optimised for the thing chosen.

I think everyone needs to be designing the os for something a little more like this:

Because by the time "rome" would be released (2015?), I have a feeling we won't be using computers in the same way as we are now.

All concepts brought up in this thread are just a poor representation of whats already in vista.

Fair do's, i guess i just dont have no imagination :p lol

If there's one thing about GUI's i dislike it's the fact it's all visual based, yes i know there's screen readers etc but there's something wrong with sitting staring at a computer screen all day. no matter how comfy your chair is and how good your monitor is, it's never right lol

GUI = Graphical User Interface

Old....

Love the Deviantart one, the red and all, only problem is that all of the pics ive seen so far lack reality...

Some of the pics are too one colored etc...

Look how Vista came out.....so many colors for all the different programs, but keeps the simple white and black

like the aero theme, itll look more like aero in the future and have very simple and clear features...

Id doubt the scrolling feature but if any of you have seen the Vista 3d tab....

if not, heres a pic (had to add as an attachment)

amazing quality and clarity

just a few hints, going out to eat now but ill work on it and post one tomorrow, i really like the windowsRomewhich the guy on deviant art put.

    • Ridiculous claim that the labor cost difference of $6000 annually would increase cost per phone by $200. The employees produce 3 phones per month or what?

    • Never used the G7 Pro, but I've never had a good experience with that style of d-pad and fighting games.
    • And I just bought a seat cushion for my mesh chair. The chair feels nice but the first time I sat in it with boxers, I realized I don't like the feel of mesh on my legs. 😂
