Saw this thread and couldn't resist giving it a shot. Nothing too fancy, still pretty Vista-esq, but I've made some subtle changes that I've thought about now and then.

The idea for the task bar would be similar to a gadget in the sidebar, you would get close/max/min buttons to the right when you hovered on the thumbnail.

The bottom bar would be completely configurable and replace the quicklaunch/All Programs menu. You can add links to individual folders/programs or create menus organized anyway you want(the rightmost two show this). The only thing I'm not sure about would be how handle a list of every program installed, maybe a right-click option that opens up a window?

well done mate looks great tho :) just not sure bout the yellow either... maybe a light blue?

These are not fake pictures (as you may know), but i think these would be the best for the ui of the new windows!

That would be a revolution! :woot:

a newer version of my second version,

this time the start button is in a pressed state which displays the menus once pressed.

Very cool indeed. Will we get some more ideas for the rest of the UI? For example, would the start menu expand into more circles (or a bigger circle) to show all the programs and not just the most recent ones?

blimey forgot about this thread... um i wasn't sure if there was any point in going on with it, i was thinking more circles about the main circle, and the icons in the main circle being user defined menus... dont think that makes much sense lol.

I dont know how to use photoshop but here is my idea (if anyone is willing to reproduce it on photoshop go ahead)

- A clean desktop with the Windows logo in the middle.

- When mouse goes over the logo, a 360 degree program list with tabs shows out of the logo having stuff like my computer, programs, currently running programs etc.

- All windows except ones containing text are aero style.

let me be the bad guy here :p

why are you trying this glass transparency?

Its supposed that vista's sign is glass and not rome's.

Btw whole microsoft cant think anything better, what about us :p?

it need something pioneering and not glass effects.

ps.i am bit negative :p
