I was wondering about the burnt suit... he obviously changed clothes after the 'accident' lol... I think the burnt clothes were because he killed the driver and the car went off the road so that was the only explanations I had for his clothes

I vaguely remember Dent in that bar, wearing the charred suit. This was before the crash.

Just saw it tonight. Amazing movie. Have just watched one trailer before the movie.

Joker was brilliant. So funny and creepy at the same time. And the hospital scene was hillerious (especially the end).

Dark Knight is one of the best sequels I have seen. On par with Terminator 2 if you ask me. It took everything great about the first and improved almost everything. I didn't like the introduction of Two Face though. Felt it was too much. Other than that is was one of the best superhero movies so far.

Again, NO friggin Robin in Nolan's Batman movie. Why the hell would Batman need another sidekick. Especially a kid that he'll put in harm's way just to fight crime. I really don't think it can be done seriously. Even for Nolan.

One of the biggest flaws I think is the Two-Face conversion. I thought it was really rushed & Nolan didn't give it time to developed into a villain. That the Joker can easily turn this white knight & make him do evil acts. Sorry, I just don't buy it.

I so agree Robin would ruin the franchise imho and alot of people even Bale agreed he would not sign on if he had a Robin.

Finally got to see it tonight. This move in comparison to the last one with Bale was night and day. Better story and just plain better acting. I enjoyed the movie overall, it was just solid.

Heath was a great Joker and was a big part of the great acting. I don't think he would be getting the so called "Oscar nod" if he was alive though. It would have been just another summer blockbuster action movie.

I disagree with that last point. I think he fully well deserves the Oscar. I don't think I've seen such an absolutely spot on and convincing portrayal of any character in any movie in a very, very long time. It was perfect. Honestly. I don't see how it could have been improved in any way.

Wow, saw it last night, what a movie, really good and story line, were amazing :D

These 2 new batman movies to me are 100% better then the old ones, love the fights, music, and Heath Ledger, did a better job as joker in my view.

[Review] The Dark Knight

Saw the movie last night. What can I say that has not already been said?

This movie is flawless, and has been my best cinema experience in a long time. We've had some highs (Iron Man, Indy IV) and lows (Hulk, Prince Caspian, Indy IV) already this year, but TDK shoots right to the top. Now, I'm a complete Transformers nut, but I have to put TDK above even Michael Bay's awesome robot grinding spectacle. The Dark Knight set out to be better than Batman Begins (BB) and has done so in every right. It's grittier, it's darker, it's more sadisctic, and it's a bloody marvel (ahem).

I know it sounds like I'm just following suit for praise of Heath Ledger as the maniacal Joker, but he went above and beyond any character portrayal I've seen previously.

Right from his second scene (with the mob bosses and the TV) he sets a pace for the rest of the film, but I love the way the character is able to throw everyone down a different track on so many different occasions. Like lying about the locations of Harvey and Rachel, and the two ferries..

At quite a few points in the film, we were actually laughing out loud at some of the things he says and does, they had him in a dress! WTF? How awesomely random, it just bloody worked.

Harvey Dent was my second favourite character of the film, and it's simply because up until actually watching the film, I was under the impression that Harvey was appearing in this film as a setup character for a possible 2nd sequel but taking him and developing him into a full blown character has paid dividence. He was funny, but brutally honest, and the effects after his inevitable faceburn were simply fantastic.

It would be interesting if they could somewhat bring him back in the next film, but its more than likely that they will seal Two-Face's fate here, and move on.

Bale was brilliant too, but I felt that he was constantly overshadowed by the behemoth of Ledger's Joker. That's not a bad thing at all, because it puts the character in an almost constant state of uneasiness, and we now already have a rich underlying story for the 3rd film: bat on the run.

My only real gripe about this film was Bale's accent when he was wearing his Batsuit, it just seem really out of place. I know it's part of the whole secret identity persona, but it sounded a little off.

Where can we go from here? We've seen what Nolan can achieve, and just how well actors work with him, but the raw finality of the finished product makes you wonder just what else can be achieved to try and top this work of art. What character would play the primary antagonist? The Penguin? The Riddler. IMO, I think neither should be chosen, The Penguin doesn't fit into Nolan's Gotham, and I believe any portrayal of The Riddler would try and emulate Ledger's Joker too much. This one is open for debate.

The Dark Knight: 10/10.

Christian Bale (Bruce Wayne/Batman): 9/10.

Heath Ledger (The Joker): 11/10.

Aaron Eckhart (Harvey Dent/Two-Face): 10/10.

Rewatchability: 10/10.

- A very satisfied viewer.

I seen it on Thursday... first movie ever to surprise me multiple times with its plot, it is a great movie no doubt.

Christian Bale is the ultimate Batman in flesh

Heath Ledger (damn it was ackward watching him knowing he dead and all) excellent as the dark maniac totally psychotic Joker but he is not better than Jack Nicholson because the characters are not the same , diffrent jokers .

Everyone else had their roles done very well, everyone got decent time and lines, almost anal approach by the Nolan's.

So possible 3rd part villains were thrown around here.... because the movies are dark and not for children, I think anything is possible , I doubt any of former movies villains will make appearence.

Well, I went to watch it last night. WOW. I drove home and decided to head up to the pub, see who was there. Everyone asking "So, any good". All I could really answer was "More than good, it's huge". I mean, it's such a BIG film, so much going on both visually and also within the plots. The acting was emmense, the multiple plots and subplots were amazing, just an awesome film.

Ledger was so big in this, you can see how much he got into the character (and unfortunately the character got into him). And as said above, he eclipsed Bale, yet Bale still shone. As such, this puts the character of Batman into a different perspective. And Dent was amazing, not seen acting like that from Eckhart before - a really well thought out character indeed.

I must say, after watching it - which I enjoyed absolutely - I was exhausted.

My only criticism was that the editing in the first 30 mins was WELL off!

    • I hear you on browser password manager, in my case I have two Google profiles, one was created when Google decided to grandfather us out of Workspace for Domains (with the replacement being too expensive for 25 users) resulting in my domain email address no longer being able to be registered to a new Workspace I created (for myself and another co-owner) so I could use Takeout and sync over some stuff to the new Workspace. Then I have my personal Google profile which I could be logged into on my desktop or Mobile, so I am saving passwords on one or the other, and when an URL changes another password for the same service gets added, it basically ends up being a giant mess. Unless I missed something is there a local decent password manager that can override the browser password managers for Chrome, Edge, Firefox (profiles) so that there is only one vault, and does that also support Passkeys (which to me are still confusing because sometimes it will ask for a Passkey on a phone I am no longer using!) Microsofts implementation of Passkeys is the worst!
    • It's utterly baffling that we have no idea when we'll get new features even well after they've been released. Why Microsoft thinks this is a good rollout strategy is beyond me.
    • If it makes anybody happy, others will need to be bitter about it. (apologies to Yogi Berra)
    • I owned a lot of Soundblaster cards over the years all the way back to the ISA slot era. I use a Soundblaster X3 external now because I'm able to run it through a KVM and have it follow the machine I happen to be using. It drives a set of JBL 305 powered monitors wonderfully. I'm not gaming or doing home theater through it, so rear channels aren't a consideration for me, though it does have side / rear / sub outputs.
    • I disagree that using browser based password managers is a bad idea, your passwords are encrypted by the OS password, but they also be synchronized to make them helpful. I would also use a password manager extension that supports MFA TOTP and Passkeys to manage the account that synchronizes the data. Ente is 100% free and allows you to vault important information, has password vault support, and supports 2FA TOTP support, I just don’t believe, it has a browser extension.
