guys, you know the scene where the Joker taunts the detective guarding him and asks him how many of his friends were killed, and the detective answers "six"?

What did the Joker mouth then? I thought it was 'six' and after looking at this video and turning the volume up it looks like he mouths 'ten' and I can actually hear "T" from the "ten".

the 30-second mark.

He definitely mouths 'six.' It's really not hard to hear an 's' sound at the beginning and end of the word.

I finally checked this out last Thursday night. I thought it was fantastic, a terrific compliment to Batman Begins, which I absolutely love. Even my fiance really enjoyed Dark Knight, and we are going to see it this week in IMAX - something I've heard is a must do.

I still can't believe they fit that much action into 2 1/2 hours. It was never ending!

My only complaint, if you will, is that at the end of Batman Begins we were left with a bit of a surprise and clue: the Joker card. Brilliant! I was hoping for something similar in this one because my fiance and I both were asking the same questions in the car: what happens with the Joker character now that Heath Ledger cannot reprise the role? He never died. And is Two-Face dead or not? The reason I ask about Two-Face is because they (Gordon, Wayne) kept talking about Harvey even after "the fall". I was under the impression they still want the Gotham public to believe Dent is the hero they need...how do they do that if he's dead? Going to be very interesting...

You should probably tag that last paragraph.

As for Dent, I personally think he's alive. Gotham needed a hero amidst all the anarchy, and Harvey was that hero.

Such a shame that the rest of the case was just 'good'

Did you just miss Gary Oldman completely? I don't see how you have to be doing an outlandish or mental role in order to be considered good - he was absolutely solid, gripping, and completely believable as Comissioner Gordon.

No, he definately mouths ten as he's referring to the guys in the holding cell and the one with the phone in his stomach.

I work at a cinema and get paid to watch these films haha. First we had a private staff screening at midnight but I got kinda drunk then n didn't remember the second half, but after watching it again the other day I am completely blown away by this film, it was truly magnificent. The ending was just pure genius and Ledger was truly brilliant, however I can't help but think that people overstate his excellence as the Joker because he is dead, even though this isn't entirely true it'll still happen.

One of my favourite lines "I'm not wearing hockey pads" that voice is just so deep and raspy.

You're right, Oldman was good, as was the entire rest of the cast. Really good. But I was completely unprepared for how freely Ledger acted the psychopath.

I agree that actors playing these types of role tend to get all the attention and that arguably playing the mad man is the easier of the two roles. But he was believable. That, for me at least is really rare.

I was challenged and disturbed by every scene he was in. I never knew what to expect and could never read his next line in his body language.

That takes some impressive directing but, you can't build a castle out of sand no matter how good the instructions are. It takes that little something extra.

No, he most definitely mouths six. How would he know who is his friend and who isn't? And the one with the phone in his stomach was a bad guy ;) I watched the clip many times with the sound on and off, and it's definitely six.

"friends" could just mean cops in general, it needn't be literally friends of the detective guarding him. Muting the sound it looks like it could either be 'six' or 'ten', but with the sound turned up I hear a 'tttth' sound when he mouths it, so it definitely is a 'ten' for me, though most people still say it's 'six'. Oh well. Trivial thing, but interesting.

Not trying to sound disrespectful, but I was thinking. In the movie there is a fake death, right? The biggest publicitary stunt of all time would be that they did the same with Ledger's... of course that would also bring a lot of hate to those involved.

who knows? but if that's true, then that's good news I guess.. Heath probably wanted to get away from the media since he knew The Dark Knight would be a Huge hit.

I noticed a few pages back someone posted images of the statues, you can purchase them at DC Direct this October, but they'll cost you: BATMAN VINYL STATUE BY KOTOBUKIYA, BATMAN Statue, THE JOKER STATUE Statue

I am not sure if I want to spend on the Joker model...what am I saying course I do!

are you really asking why he would do that? He was trying to agitate and pick a fight with the guy. He needed to make the phone call to set off the bomb. He repeated six as a way to get under the guys skin.

Okay, accepted.

There seems to be quite some argument about this on the internet. I'm prepared for it to actually be six, but in the truest part of my heart I still believe it's ten. I guess we'll find out when the DVD comes out!

my guess is if he sarcastically mouthed "ten" like some people think he did...the guy he was trying to agitate would not understand what if he was implying or saying.

I hope on the dvd it shows how he got out of the room. My guess is the knife in the shoe :) I doubt the guard had a knife on him, so the Joker must of had it hidden on him

    • I hear you on browser password manager, in my case I have two Google profiles, one was created when Google decided to grandfather us out of Workspace for Domains (with the replacement being too expensive for 25 users) resulting in my domain email address no longer being able to be registered to a new Workspace I created (for myself and another co-owner) so I could use Takeout and sync over some stuff to the new Workspace. Then I have my personal Google profile which I could be logged into on my desktop or Mobile, so I am saving passwords on one or the other, and when an URL changes another password for the same service gets added, it basically ends up being a giant mess. Unless I missed something is there a local decent password manager that can override the browser password managers for Chrome, Edge, Firefox (profiles) so that there is only one vault, and does that also support Passkeys (which to me are still confusing because sometimes it will ask for a Passkey on a phone I am no longer using!) Microsofts implementation of Passkeys is the worst!
    • It's utterly baffling that we have no idea when we'll get new features even well after they've been released. Why Microsoft thinks this is a good rollout strategy is beyond me.
    • If it makes anybody happy, others will need to be bitter about it. (apologies to Yogi Berra)
    • I owned a lot of Soundblaster cards over the years all the way back to the ISA slot era. I use a Soundblaster X3 external now because I'm able to run it through a KVM and have it follow the machine I happen to be using. It drives a set of JBL 305 powered monitors wonderfully. I'm not gaming or doing home theater through it, so rear channels aren't a consideration for me, though it does have side / rear / sub outputs.
    • I disagree that using browser based password managers is a bad idea, your passwords are encrypted by the OS password, but they also be synchronized to make them helpful. I would also use a password manager extension that supports MFA TOTP and Passkeys to manage the account that synchronizes the data. Ente is 100% free and allows you to vault important information, has password vault support, and supports 2FA TOTP support, I just don’t believe, it has a browser extension.
