like what about people who have done absolutely nothing about Beta Testing and just run vista or whatever cus they want to and only decide to fill out a bug report tonight?? i mean it wouldnt be fair that they get one only after hearing about Vista going out to people...

if they haven't submitted a bug for previous builds then they are SOL, and won't receive the final version.

Ok now please answer these questions:

1. Were you invited to Beta Test Windows Vista and joined Connect?

Yes? Go to Question 2.

No? You do not get a copy of Windows Vista RTM.

2. Did you log at least 1 Bug?

Yes? You get Windows Vista RTM.

No? You do not get Windows Vista RTM.

Damn it! I always voted and gave feedback on bugs but never filed one myself!

Hopefully they'll see that!

I experienced very few bugs to be honest. Those that I did had already been logged so I voted and gave feedback. Is this not of importance? meh. Not looking for handouts anyways.

Quesiton 1: I recieved an email in September saying that I could test the RC1 of Vista, Microsoft office 2007 and Longhorn Server. if i remember correctly then I recieved this email several days before the RC1 was released. I had already been registered with Connect and ive filled out the Scenario voting site nearly complete and ive reported 4 or 5 bugs so far. i reported most of them last week but one was two days ago so im not sure if ill get it...

Could it be something to do with the country you are situated in? I'm in NZ, and I still haven't got mine. :(

Location matters. https://www.neowin.net/index.php?act=view&id=36173

Yes for the love of god

If you didn't START beta testing when beta 1 started AND submit one bug report.

YOU WILL NOT GET A COPY

Some people need to get over it and hope to be invited to test the next OS or Service pack 1 for Vista.

Incorrect. You can get it if you started beta testing from beta 2 + at least one bug report.

Can they be transferred to another person? :p

Congrats to those who submitted a bug report. :) I didn't really have a system to use it on extensively during the beta. It doesn't matter though, I don't mind paying for it when it comes out.

Planning on building a new PC before Vista comes out ... then I'll buy it ...

    • On xiaomi hyperos there's also an option to disable google assistant. I've got everything disabled. Only thing I do have installed is a web wrapped for duck.ai which claims to let you use various AIs anonymously
    • I need to understand the rationale of not shipping all of these K2 improvements in a single update/release. It's giving "we will fix Windows 11 but no commitments". It seems to me that they just announce these improvements just to appease the community.
    • The term "RTM" is long gone starting with Windows 10. Every current release is a GA build. This is the result of MS making Windows as a Service (WaaS).
