That is correct. Those are the RTM disc images.

Wait, so if you joined as a CPP, you don't get it?

CPP Members don't receive a copy of the final version of Vista.

Only currently active, invited members of the Windows Vista technical beta program who filed at least one bug are receiving this offer.

This means ONLY if MS invited you to test Vista.

INVITED

please don't get people's hope's up.

yo i got an email like in september which had some dude and a crash test dummy with some glasses taking an eye test and it said

The Vista RC1 is available now along with Microsoft 2007.

Then it explained everything and had several links. Is this the invite?? Plus i didnt file any bugs till about two weeks ago, is that alright??

thanks medking

No. But you have to remove the 32bit installation.

For those who have received the email, were you directly in just a "Windows Vista" beta, or one that had other things in it? The one I was in was Vista, IE7 and Longhorn Server. I still haven't received my email?

Thanks,

Smctainsh

If you were not invited to join the Tech Beta program starting with the early vista builds, there still is a way to get it.... on january 31.

No news at all. They made it quite clear that there was no free version for Beta Testers.

I think the amount of goodwill and advertising generated by giving away a link (to active, invited Beta Testers) to a download of RTM of a product gives, it's probably worth it for Microsoft.

What a surprise this was. I got home this evening, and there the invite was in my inbox.

They say product keys MAY be physically mailed to us, so that may include a certificate of authenticity or something like that. (For when a handwritten key just isn't enough...)
