I'm in for now username "xendrome"

Systems:

i7-2600 (4 core, 8 thread)

i7-2600 (4 core, 8 thread)

i7-2600 (4 core, 8 thread)

Xeon E5640 Dual (4 core, 8 thread, 16 thread total)

BOOM!

Now we're talkin' :)

Too bad that puts me in 2nd place for the 24hr average, though :(

what CPU? Try running it at 2 cores less than your CPU has. So if it's an 8 core CPU, do 6 cores.

My Core i7 iMac had issues folding at 100% for long periods of time. Oddly, the computer ran just fine, but the actual data that was being folded got corrupted and I had to start the Work Unit over from the beginning.

Yup it's quite a powerful computer, had a 27" iMac with i3, but I wanted an ssd and theyre a pain in the arse for upgrading..So sold it and got this :)

Anyway.. Yep I think the temps are higher on these, but still something must be amiss.

  • 2 weeks later...

I haven't reinstalled it on my desktop yet after reinstalling windows last week, so I'm down to only one computer contributing.I'll put it back on soon. (I'm the mysterious person with the long name near the top).

How'd you come up with that?

Just something random I threw in when I first started. When I joined the Neowin team I couldn't change it because I'd loose track of those first 22 WU I had done :o  I can't be bothered to see if I can change it now :/

A major compiler is used for both x86/x64 and WoA64 architectures. This also means that all core libraries are re-compiled accordingly which required some changes in the build scripts. One of the core libraries (cURL) has been updated to address vulnerabilities and a nasty linker error that was causing the need for a dedicated patch which could now be eliminated.
