Millions knocked out from Xbox Live, millions consoles banned was never so easy takedown Microsoft in a console war.

So you think this will give Sony the lead? Wow, and I thought that Sony fans still had some rationale left in them.

I think Microsoft did really underestimate the quantity of users with modded consoles. Let's just hope that the banning to innocent people doesn't get worse.

Actually, I hope the ban EVERYONE, or at least A LOT of non-modded 360's

Then they'll be forced to unban everyone...

...

They don't ban entire computers that use pirated copies of windows.

Not yet, anyhow... :shifty:

It would be nice to see them crack down on the pirated XP and Vista installs like they seem to do here.

I found this on bungie.net's news:

If you get an error message "Status Code: Z: 8015 - 190D" it means you are done playing Xbox Live on that console. Congrats.

Yes, my 360 has "Z: 8015 - 190D".

I went to Best Buy today and I ALMOST bought a new 360... I was VERY tempted.

Then i thought to myself, this may be the perfect opportunity to get rid of all my 360 gear. I may buy a 360 again in September when halo 3 comes out :)

I think this is quite a good thing, serves those who modded their console right. Those who want to play online should have to buy the game, i personally don't give a crap if you mod your 360 or any other console just so long as you don't think you deserve the same right to play online with pirated games. I modded my original xbox, and i never took it online once, nor did i ever expect to be able to. This was just a long time coming, sorry that some people actually feel they've been wronged if they modded their console.

But now even if you buy the game you cant play it online

But if you pay for Xbox Live $60.00 a year? So what if you have a game back up? If xbox live was FREE!!! Then I would understand to ban people for having modded 360?s but when you buy a xbox 360 you don?t get xbox live for free you have to fork over some $$!

I got banned and I don't even have a modded 360...

I was playing Territories on Valhalla and suddenly *pop* disconnected from Live. I run tests and everything worked fine except for Xbox Live. I went for more info and there it is... wtf is going on?

Call Microsoft support then.

so we have non-modded consoles getting locked out? that's great!

ok this thread got too long and a bit on the ridiculous side, especially with people i know to be intelligent like Nashy making fools of themselves. What the hell was that with the big bold highlights from the agreement? what are you, quoting the Nuremberg race laws or something? take it easy and maybe sympathize a little with the people on your side, you know, the users?

Heyo's right. MS needs to be a bit more graceful in handling something like this. i don't mod and i don't pirate, but having users think that some flimsy agreement overrules the law is alarming. and it seems the regional coding is also confused as law? omg you guys are daft! that's under WTO assessment as we speak.

anyway, MS uses local laws as a reason to limit Marketplace access etc, but ignores local law when it comes to other issues? isn't that hypocritical?

and what worries me most is the sneaking suspicion that many people here are literally AFRAID of Microsoft and thus compelled to take their side. Are we seeing self censorship of posts now? if that's the case, they can have their 360 and the almost twice that much i put into software and Live by now.

If you didn't mod your console and got banned, couldn't you just send it in to prove to them it's legit? Would probably even get some free stuff out of the deal for the false accusation. At least I know I would sure as hell demand free stuff.

Well I called Xbox Support about my situation and they basically told me to wait it out in 2-3 days as MS is trying to fix the problem. He said that if it doesn't get fixed within the next 2-3 days, I'm pretty much out of luck. I didn't know what to say then so I just politely thanked him and hung up as bitching about couldn't have done anyone any good...

I do hope they fix it, I'm not about to shell out another 500 bucks for another 360. I'm on my second console too.

well... all I can say is that not even one of the casualties on this war is "innocent" every one and single console that got banned was tampered in some way or another and we already know of a lot of people trying to revert the process... and you know what? you can take us to court whenever you want, we will probe you're lying and we will counter any of those lawsuits and will laugh our asses as hard as we can when you get jail time for all the stupid things you did... go ahead, make my day!

thanks god the system works, somehow but it still works!

note: comment was not refering to any particular member... :shiftyninja:

Are you banning for things like fan mods,?case?mods and cooling mods as well? If so, I don't think that's fair at all. Poeple put a lot of work into those, and they shouldn't be banned for just making thier console look better and run better. What is "tampered" in your eyes?

    • But they will be the first asking for a bail out the moment crap goes sideways. Its just a matter of time with this AI thing unless skynet gets us first.
    • I'm so conflicted with the Google Search AI summaries. On one hand I don't like how it's harming smaller websites by greatly reducing traffic which will harm us all in the long run but on the other hand those AI summaries often give me the information I'm after. I have never once clicked on 'show me more' though and never will.
    • Not a single company as small or large it may be is obligated to subsidize its products and sell them at a loss. Your way of thinking is socialist and as a West German with a German brother state but impoverished by state dictatorship and a socialist command economy situated to the East i can tell you - this kind of thinking very quickly leads to products not being produced anymore at all. EDIT: That does not mean that I find state support for social needs unreasonable. Quite the contrary. Together with solid workers' rights we exactly had exactly that in Germany for decades in the form of the Sozialstaat which was as the scandinavian social democratic very successful - until the number of people who drew from those resources dramatically increased (ironically a project of social democrat and green proponents).
    • Apple reportedly has a second-generation iPhone Fold planned for 2027 by Hamid Ganji The iPhone Fold is one of the most anticipated tech products expected to debut this fall. It will be Apple’s first foldable iPhone, ushering in a new product category for the company. While the first generation has yet to hit the shelves, a new leak suggests Apple has already begun work on its successor. Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station claims that the second-generation iPhone Fold has already been confirmed, meaning Apple could launch a successor in fall 2027. The foldable iPhone is also reportedly referred to as the “iPhone Ultra,” though it remains unclear whether Apple will ultimately choose that branding, especially as Samsung is rumored to rename the Galaxy Z Fold 8 as the Galaxy Z Fold Ultra this year. The leaker also claims that the second-generation foldable will feature a wider folding display while reusing the same screen found in the first generation. Apple’s first foldable iPhone is expected to feature a 7.8-inch inner display and a 5.3-inch outer screen in a passport-style form factor. It has already been reported that Apple plans to change its iPhone release cycle in 2026 to spread launches throughout the year. Under this strategy, the iPhone Fold is expected to debut this fall alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. The standard iPhone 18 and iPhone Air 2 are expected to arrive later in 2026 or in early 2027. Speaking of the iPhone Air, Digital Chat Station says Apple remains undecided about a third-generation model. The company is reportedly waiting to see how the iPhone Air 2 performs in the market, and if sales disappoint, a successor may never materialize. As we reported this week, the iPhone Air has not been scrapped from Apple’s plans. The second-generation model is reportedly scheduled for spring 2027 and could introduce upgrades such as an additional rear camera for ultrawide photography and improved battery life.
