Seems like a minor blog and is cleary written by someone who is misinformed and who doesn't have a clue about the MSN waves. 8.5 is very much real and has been planned for a while now, there will be an official beta shortly. Unfortunately this leak was from a private MVP beta.

Messenger Plus!

Does work on this version, just copy msimg32.dll from C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger to C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger and restart Messenger. msimg32.dll is a file added by Messenger Plus! which makes sure Plus! loads when Messenger is started.

It loads yes, but it does not actually do anything.

I had the same problem.

Reboot your computer and try again. This is what I did and it worked. Simple, but effective.

Cause you downloaded my upload.

Only the "ES_Install_WLMessenger_8_5.exe" file is needed, the install of messengeradictos.com is just bloated up to promote their website.

Just keep trying, don't despair it'll work, sooner or later.

After the Messenger 7 betas, I've tried to stay away from using leaked internal builds. It takes all the fun out of waiting! :p
