On a side note Havant and Waterlooville have just beaten Swansea 4 - 2. This means they will go on to play Liverpool. The money produced from the match alone will make the club happy. I really hope this goes on tv.

i hope they are ready to get slaughtered...

It really should be on BBC, amazing tho what a match thats gonna be but its gonna be something like 8-0.

Wow. At least they got someone who will offer some stability to the management side now.

Can Keegan now keep up with the current style of premiership?

Tell you the truth I can not even think how it will all work. Hopefully this means Newcastle will have at least players that will act good and stop getting injuried. I think that is one of the other reasons why people hate Newcastle FC.

Stability? Keegan? He's left every team he's managed in the lurch by suddenly resigning, giving a vague reason and then disappearing for months. He was still great first time round and most people will agree that Newcastle provided some of the best football the Premiership has ever seen.

Not sure what you mean by getting the players to "act good" we've always had a good disilpinary record unfortunaly we bought Joey Barton probably the thickest footballer since Jason Mcateer.

Injuries have plagued our club for years, regardless of who's been in charge. I believe there is a more deep rooted problem with the whole physio/coaching/facilities setup. I heard that Steve Black visited and said their methods are so dated it was like travelling back in time and that if a rugby club looked at fitness like Newcastle do no-one would ever be fit.

I think everyone here (in Newcastle) wants a manager we can get behind and will get us playing some good football. Hopefully Keegan is the man.

Also who hates Newcastle FC? Under Keegan (1st time) and Bobby we were almost everyone's second favourite club.

Liverpool Not for Sale

Liverpool's American owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett have denied reports they are planning to sell the club.

Dubai International Capital, who failed in a bid to buy the club last January, have been linked with a second attempt.

It has been rumoured DIC are planning to bid for the 50% stake in Liverpool owned by Hicks.

A spokesman for the two Americans said: "Any suggestion Hicks and Gillett are contemplating a sale of the club or any portion of it is categorically untrue."

DIC founder and chairman Sameer Al-Ansari was the man responsible for the takeover bid a year ago, but Liverpool owner David Moores had a last minute change of heart and opted to sell to the Americans.

"It took me two weeks to get over that," said the 44-year-old al-Ansari, a life-long Liverpool said.

"But it didn't dent my passion - I still go to every match when I'm here."

Al-Ansari, who has also recently been linked with Sir Richard Branson's move to take over building society Northern Rock, has maintained contact with Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry.

The club's current owners have come under fire from supporters recently after it emerged they had held talks with Jurgen Klinsmann about replacing Rafael Benitez as manager.

Hicks and Gillett are in process of refinancing the loan they took out to buy the club and have the added pressure of an expensive new stadium to fund.

It is uncertain how Gillett's position at the club would be affected should the DIC group buy his partner's share at Anfield.

Aye, but that doesn't necessarily guarantee winning the premiership - it mostly has to do with the Managers tactics, the team spirit, bonds between the players and belief. I for one believe Liverpool will not win the premiership although they will rack up a lot more points than they did last season. On the contrary, I believe Arsenal will challenge for the title but end up getting 2nd place after Man Utd. Eboue on the right wing will be like a new signing for them - if anyone wants to know how he played against Inter Milan - He was devastating so watch out for him this season - top, top player and one of the best crossers of the ball in the premiership and has the best defensive qualities a winger could have. Chelsea will miss Drogba dearly this season come African nations cup - thats for sure. Tottenham - none the less will come fith placed again but as I said they too will get more points than last season and this goes for a lot of the other teams. The standards of the premiership has been pushed very high now with the quality players lots of teams have bought in the Premiership and I have no doubt that most of them will become hits including Torres but sadly that won't be enough to propel them to the first position [Liverpool]

Sorry for the very opinionated tone :p don't take it too seriously I'm just using my knowledge to guesstimate the future and we all know that the future is a mystery

Check out the date stamp on that :p

But he was spot on about Arsenal, Man Utd and Liverpool.

Given, the Man Utd one was easy lol.

I for one didn't see Arsenal pressing this hard. Adabayour has been simply outstanding for them and it has made me realise why Man Utd were so keen on getting him last season when I was like wtf.

liverpool had better play a strong team and include torres tomorrow, or my telegraph fantasy team could have a shocker. it's a make it or break it game for my season i think. eek!

Liverpool will beat H&W with a vengeance its gonna be like 8-0 so no worries but if you do lose then I will laugh for weeks...:p

LIVERPOOL, England - Liverpool's American owners completed a 350-million-pound (C$696 million) refinancing package Friday that keeps the Premier League club in their hands despite a growing backlash from fans.

Co-owner Tom Hicks also expressed "continuing and enthusiastic support" for manager Rafa Benitez, whose position has been in doubt following disputes with the Americans over player transfers.

The refinancing deal and a revised design for Liverpool's new stadium were announced by Kop Football, the holding company headed by Hicks and co-owner George Gillett Jr., who also owns the Montreal Canadiens.

The money package was reached with the Royal Bank of Scotland and Wachovia Bank, replacing a previous financing arrangement that was due to expire next month.

The new deal is expected to help Hicks and Gillett repay the money borrowed for their 218.9-million-pound (C$435 million) takeover of Liverpool in March 2007.

The package will "meet all of the club's current financial needs and includes facilities to support the commencement of the new stadium" and provide funds for future player transfers, the statement said.

they ain't going anywhere...

    • Chrome has history of being the browser everyone uses because Internet Explorer sucks, not realizing that Edge changed that, but people got into the habit of using Chrome. I use Brave and I've never been happier with a browser. It does what it is meant to do and gets out of the way.

    • Microsoft launches Godot Sample to streamline Xbox PC game development on the engine by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Microsoft today announced a new endeavor that aims to make it simpler for Godot developers to get their products into the Xbox PC ecosystem. Dubbed the "XBOX Godot Sample," this is a new public reference for developers using the open-source engine. This is set to serve as an example of how Microsoft GDK, Xbox Services, and PlayFab can be integrated into their projects. The sample is available now on GitHub as a working example. This covers key features in gaming projects that developers may need to release their projects on Xbox PC, with everything from matchmaking and game sign-in to gamepad compatibility with Godot being covered. This release is being called the first step in giving Godot developers the tools to bring their games over to Xbox PC, with more changes to come based on feedback and issue reports. However, the company was clear that this is not related to bringing Godot projects to Xbox consoles. The engine's open development model stops it from accessing console SDKs due to the requirement of NDAs and legal contracts. Here's how it explained this Godot sample project's focus: This is a source-only sample, not a product. It's MIT-licensed at the wrapper layer; the GDK and PlayFab dependencies still require their own installs and license acceptance, consistent with our other XBOX samples. There is no set update cadence for support or maintenance. We’ll watch the repo, monitor issues, and iterate where it makes sense, but this isn't a commercial release. That said, we’re excited to hear your feedback and see any community PRs, as we evolve this together. This is the first step in bringing Godot for XBOX on PC. We plan to evolve it over time based on what the community tells us is most valuable. This sample is built specifically for XBOX on PC. It doesn’t include support for XBOX Series X|S or XBOX One. If you’re already building for XBOX Series X|S or XBOX One, please talk with your XBOX representative. If not, you can get started by signing up here. Game developers can find the XBOX Godot Sample by heading to GitHub over here. Documentation on how to get started with Godot for building an Xbox PC project can be seen here.
