[Official] Doctor Who Thread

Recommended Posts

UGH. I think I want RTD back at some point already lol

You know who doesn't want to reuse old enemies, which is fine. But my god, can they go one episode (or 3) without the enemies in the pics?! Probably not...:(

Then again, pretty good enemies. So meh.

Was wondering the same thing myself.

I'm betting on late November/early December.

There will be 6 episodes this year, including the Xmas Special. Then 8 next year. Jenna's character will first be seen at Xmas.

the premiere is supposedly being shown in August

The Media Guardian Edinburgh International TV Festival have announced that a special screening of Asylum of the Daleks, Series 7 Episode 1, will take place at The Filmhouse - 10am, Saturday, August 25. The session, which is scheduled to last ninety minutes, will also include an interview with story's writer, and current showrunner, Steven Moffat.

Although no official announcement has been made as of yet, some tickets will be made available to the public at some point (this happened with Let's Kill Hitler in 2011).

  • 2 weeks later...
Matt Smith has said that Doctor Who's seventh series will be airing in a matter of weeks.

Speaking at the TV Guide Magazine Fan Favourites' panel at San Diego Comic-Con today (July 14), the actor revealed that the series's first episode 'Asylum of the Daleks' would be broadcast some time in August.

The confirmation comes after news that the episode will be given a public premiere at BFI Southbank in London on August 14, while it will also be screened at the Edinburgh International Television Festival, which takes place from August 23 to August 25.

Series six episode 'Let's Kill Hitler' was given its first showing at the Festival last year and broadcast on BBC One the following day, with Smith's revelation suggesting that this may also be the case with 'Asylum of the Daleks'.

However, the BBC has yet to confirm an official air date for the new series.

New footage from the show is expected to be screened at the Doctor Who panel discussion with fans at Comic-Con tomorrow (July 15), with Smith to be joined on stage by Arthur Darvill and Karen Gillan, as well as producers Steven Moffat and Caroline Skinner.

Haven't found the panel yet (it only finished a while ago...it'll be up later no doubt) but this should tide you over...

    • Apple are scared of their customers! They have built a brand over the years of "it just works out of the box", but that slows innovation. Samsung's master stroke was the Galaxy Ultra: "Let's cram everything into one handset, make it so stupid only real nerds will love it, some of the features will work, some won't, but the audience will have such a high tolerance they won't care". Apple has no such device and so they are constantly worrying these days about the fallout of creating a new experience that customers might not like. I know it is often cited the reason they don't build a touchscreen Mac Book is they don't want to cannibalise the the iPad market, but I think it's equally cold feet after the criticism Microsoft receive trying to make a touch compatible desktop OS

    • So, an article that has nothing to do with Windows 11, still gets Windows 11 in the title and a build number as the picture? Dell have a buggy build of Support Assist HP have UEFI settings that need unlocking for the secureboot cert upgrade to take place.
    • What I can't seem to understand is that Google are paying SpaceX? Surely it would be the other way round, with SpaceX needing Google's datacenters etc.? Oh well, this level of money and power is way outside of my comprehension at the best of times.
