i thought that looked like the the appalachain mountains. one of the best mountain ranges imo. i have gotten some amazing photos in this mountain range.

lol, I thought the same. Beautiful part of the world, holds a lot of memories.

heres some i took last summer and before

Those are great. Postcard quality.

I visit here to try and get some tips and inspiration and am nowhere in the same league as a lot of you.

Maybe with a variety of different subject matter this can be achieved and someday return the favor.

Sorry, didn't mean to pick on you moonman.

Nice shots, what lens did you use? could do with a bit more editing. Personally, i would increase the exposure a little and add a little bit of saturation.

Hope you don't mind:

but at the end of the day, it's how you want it and if you're trying to achieve a certain look to the photo

thanks for the tip saxon, i dont mind at all bud.. i was looking for some help. The reason the pic went so dark, is because the sky behind her seemed to be really blown out in the original, and i used the recovery option in camera raw to try to reduce it. But your version came out very nice, i'll definitely keep that in mind.

I was just using the kit lens to take the pics.. it's all i have right now. So hopefully i'm doing my camera some justice. I love how the pics are coming out. For anyone else that owns an xt or the 18-55mm kit lens, any idea what the "sweet spot" is.. i've noticed some pics sharper then others but can't figure out the right spot.

Also, anyone with a canon slr, do you use custom saturation, sharpening or anything... or do you just leave all that to PP rather then in camera?

@sin-ergy, thanks for the compliments.. she's my world.

Bubbabyte: Your pictures have come out really well, the kit lens isn't amazing but you've definitely pulled off some very good photographs.

I use a canon and keep the settings to default. I do everything in post production.

Hey o0moonman0o, the pictures of the girl are aesthetically nice, and visually appealing, but I'm getting kinda bored of scrolling through practically the same shot every time.

Do you have any more shots you wish to share that are a little more...diverse, maybe.

@o0moonman0o : no offence meant dude. But I think we have enough of her pictures already. :|

    • It won't perform hugely better than the 3080 unless you're VRAM limited in games. Have you tried putting new thermal pads on them 3080 and giving it a good clean to see if you can regain your temps and overclock?
    • Windows 95 offered the ability to add and edit the right click menus, on a per file type basis. This feature seems to be missing in the new file explorer. Are they bringing it back as a "new" feature?
    • It's nearly time to replace my aging Founders Edition 3080, it doesn't OC as nicely as it used to and it's running around 10c warmer than it did when I first bought it.  I don't have budget for much more than what I spent on the 3080 and locally, that means the best GPU I can manage is a 9070XT. On this basis I have a few questions: 1. At present I don't use ray tracing, if this was to change, would this GPU be an issue? 2. How does it compare on a performance basis? 3. Are the drivers worse or better than those for nVidia? 4. Linux support, is it there? 5. Anything else I should be aware of if I were to make this change? 6. Is it a good idea or shall I try and keep the 3080 a little longer.
    • What OS is that? It looks a bit like Mac OS but the command line suggests it isn't, either way I like it!
