Huh ? A device to convert apps from other OSes to OS X? Damn this would be brilliant, but I don't see how they could do that. It's too complicated o_O

It's not to convert apps, but a cheap Mac for Windows and Linux developers to buy and start developing OS X Leopard and iPhone apps.

Mac Fusion = fake I think.

If you ask me, you can thank Apple for that. They're one of the best hype companies around.

How can they be to blame if they say NOTHING of un-announced products, until they show up? The tech media makes the hype - Apple just say nothing.

Well... I like the name :)

But its fake.

Yep.

Can I just point out though that Apple have done this before and it failed miserably? One of Steve's first actions on his return was to scrap the Macintosh clone programme.

One of the greatest things about being a human, is that we don't have to learn from history.

Now gimmie OSx86!

If they announce OSx86

I'll **** bricks. And Windows will suffer a MAJOR BLOW

Windows would not suffer a major blow. The majority of PCs would still be pre-loaded with Windows and the general computing public just don't care about anything else other than Windows. Hell, a lot don't even know what an Operating System is.

The only reason OS X is making inroads these days is because people think the Mac wont get any problems because it is a different computer, not a different Operating System.

LOL

Apple Store Is Down

Best not make any plans today.

The Apple store is down,

new **** is on its way.

A tablet Mac or new SDK.

Doesn't matter,'cause it's Apple, As long as Steve goes slow in the keynote:

"Had a great business year, our future success is clear.

CHORUS

But I have just one more thing to show before I disappear.

And I think it's the most exciting thing that we are gonna launch this year.

Boom it's here."

Listen, Steve, my friends and I

have decided that it's okay that you know (whoa)

that we don't want for you to die.

If it happened the stock would flatten.

So if you go, go slow!

I need a new boat.

"My hair is gone. I'm grizzled gray. Retire you ask? Not today.

CHORUS

'cause I have just one more thing to show before I disappear.

It might be the most important product that we're gonna launch this year.

Boom it's here."

BRIDGE: My head is swimming; my mouth is dry. I hardly can believe that I am worthy to be in this distortion field.

CHORUS

'cause I want just one more thing to own before I disappear.

And my life needs one more thing to glow to add a little cheer.

Oh thank god it's here.

Special thanks to #boingboing's Chris_B for mixing assistance and Jonathan Coulton for a guitar.

Steve will surprise us all. Just like when he annouced they were switching to Intel. Nobody anticipated that.

Actually I did. I believed all of the reports, of course at the time I was a new Apple fan (had just bought an iMac G5 two months before the announcement) :p

Can I just point out though that Apple have done this before and it failed miserably? One of Steve's first actions on his return was to scrap the Macintosh clone programme.

But OS X wasn't as popular back then. X hadn't come out had it? OS X is now rock solid and has an extremely awesome UI and user experience that could easily beat Windows. If they do open it up to the PC, I think it could easily succeed compared to OS 9.

    • Onwards to Windows 12 then lol.
    • There is a long thread (128pgs and counting) that I've been following over at ElevenForums that has a method for updating Secure Boot even if there is no BIOS upgrade. I've used this method and had zero issues. NOTE:  I do not take any responsibility if this or any other Secure Boot method bricks your system -- YMMV!  Read carefully before using!
    • Yes, yes, YES, thank you AMD. Now display audio, night light, cleartype, etc, all work again.
