It was obvious Greece was going to play like that. That's how they always play. Good thing they lost.

I agree (Y)

When Sweden scored and got the upper hand, the greek players got lost and didnt have a new plan to fall back on.

I really hope Greece wont make it out of the group. They play such horrible and boring football (N)

They did play like that. That is why earlier in the thread I said Greece did not deserve to win the 2004 tournament but leesmithg believes otherwise, stating that "they played the correct form of football." Honestly, I never knew that the "Correct way" to play football was to have 9 players back at all times and when they get the ball back, they refuse to go up and attack and just rotate the ball back and forth with the back four. Greece won the 2004 tournament because they weren't taken seriously and teams weren't used to Greece's way of playing. No one is stupid anymore, they know Greece will wait for you to pressure so they can score a goal and stick all 11 players in the back but Sweden did not fall for that today, hence why the fans were booing the Greeks.

It is a shame though because Greece can play some good football if they attacked but they choose not to. They will eventually have to change their tactic when their current one starts failing them like it did today. I don't expect them to get past this group.

Once they got out of the group stages in 2004, they won the rest of the games by 1-0. That is, they scored a goal via corner or free kick and they stuffed 10 players in the back like they were practicing against the forwards of their own team during training.

I came from a nation were soccer is almost non-existent so my knowledge of soccer is more than limited..

With that said, I watch the Portugal - Czech Republic and it was fun. It was much better quality and it had less flopping than all the games I saw in the world cup.

I wish I knew someone that knew soccer and liked soccer enough to teach me the sport.

    • I think the car analogy is more this: Left hand drive, basic commands on the left side of the infotainment screen. Right hand drive, basic commands on the right side of the infotainment screen. Granted, you're not swapping between the two often so it's doesn't really work. But it's to do with the proximity of you (your mouse, or the driver) to the controls.
    • I mean, the old one was broken and so stupidly complex for many users, so I don't see that as a feasible option. A context menu needs to be simple to use, and for me the Windows 11 style actually worked really well for me, and many others. I used to have to scroll the damn context menu just to get to "file properties" in Windows 10. That was not a good experience, and I'm sure you'd agree. What they're trying to do is make it the best of both worlds, as clearly you'd prefer the Win10 style. I'm curious how they're going to do this.
    • The "Show more options" has its place, as does the simpler context menu, but it should perhaps be a separate fly-out rather than relaunching the entire, old context menu. The old context menu was getting absurd in Windows 10. Often I'd have to make the context menu scroll just to get to "File properties" on my old laptop. Even without much installed, the amount of items was just too much. It's a context menu, not a "do all" menu. Making it configurable is fraught with challenges too, so I'm interested to see how Microsoft tackles this one.
    • I don't hate the new menus, I am not a fan of the lack of features and how they went live when they clearly are not complete. The menu itself presents much better than the previous - but what's lacking (IMO) is: 1) Any kind of automated manipulation such as: "this goes on the new menu because you use this feature more often on this filetype" "this is rarely used and will fall back to the old menu" 2) Any kind of user manipulation such as: "a UI to add/remove/order items to the new menu"
