Liverpool did have great purchases but I was a little frustrated about Robbie Keane being sold for a negative for the club but whatever works.

Keane didn't fit in at Liverpool, and that was apparent from his first few games with us. Adapting should not have been a problem, after all he has played in the English League all of his life (except for his loan spell at Inter), so he should have hit the ground running.

He is 29, and at his 'peak', so if he cannot do it now his resale would fall sharply when he hits 30. Tottenham offered 75% of what we paid for Keane in the first place, so it would have been stupid not to sell. He did go on deadline day, and although it would have been nice to purchase a replacement, it was simply not possible in that timeframe.

Robbie Keane is just not a good enough player for Liverpool FC, and he never helped himself by mouthing "**** off" at Rafa everytime he was subbed, its not the Liverpool way...

the only thing i wish liverpool had was depth. I honestly think our starting 11 is better then anyone elses in england, but if someone goes down, we are screwed. That's why i think Man U probabaly team in the world. If someone goes down on their starting 11 its honestly not a big deal, they have a crapload of players on their bench who would be starting anywhere else in the world...

and solving that issue doesn't look good with all the ownership/money issues the club is facing

Liverpool lining up move for ?18m striker Eto'o?

Rafael Benitez is ready to launch an ?18m bid to bring Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o to Anfield, according to reports in Spain.

Samuel Eto'o has been in great goalscoring form.

The Barcelona striker has been in top form this season, netting 25 goals from 27 games, but his future has been the subject of speculation after it was revealed that his contract only has one year left on it.

Liverpool could swoop for a player whose price tag is increasing by the game, but may face competition from both Milan clubs who have shown an interest in the striker in the past.

A source close to Eto'o said in The Sun: "Benitez likes Samuel a lot. Everything is possible for this summer. It will depend on Barcelona's results as well if they decide to buy David Villa.

"Eto'o is not a player to sit on the bench."

Despite impressing in his time at the Nou Camp and landing two La Liga titles as well as a Champions League trophy, Eto'o's time at Barcelona has been chequered and he has faced an uncertain future with new coach Pep Guardiola listening to offers last summer.

Considered to be the source of dressing room discontent, Barcelona may now choose to cash in on Eto'o before the striker can leave for free in 2010, although the player has distanced himself from any transfer talk.

When asked about a potential move to Inter Milan this weekend, he replied: "I do not know anything about Inter.

"I just lost an important match (against Togo) and I am not here to talk about my future, because I'm happy at Barcelona."

Agree, we need to strengthen our squad no question but look at united's slow start to the season when they had Ronaldo out... All the teams these days have a couple of big players that they really need

Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has been linked numerous times with a return to St. James' Park, but tonight it has been officially announced by numerous UK sources.

The news broke earlier tonight that the Magpies, who are without a full-time manager since Joe Kinnear took a leave of absence to undergo heart surgery, have taken a gamble on the former striker.

Caretaker boss Chris Hughton will thus step aside to allow Shearer to take the hotseat until the end of the current Premier League campaign.

Shearer, 38, has long been viewed as the preferred choice of some of the more vocal St. James' fans to lead the Geordie outfit.

Having scored in excess of 200 goals for his hometown club in a ten-year period, he is regarded as a hero on Tyneside.

However, he has no management experience either in the top flight or below.

Newcastle United, owned by controversial sportswear magnate Mike Ashley, have yet to comment.

Any updates/confirmations on this?

SHEARER! SHEARER!

God I hope hes the right man to keep us up. Hes been my footballing hero since he came to St James'. Dont want that image tarnished at all.

He is one of the greats.. a great player that is.. doesn't mean that he'll be a good manager too.. but keep praying ;) Three things that are really against him IMO are 1) the position New Castle is in 2) lack of experience and 3) number of games left to turn it around.. It is a real test of his abilities..

As a player, his credentials are undoubtable. As a manager... We shall see. I hope he does well as I don't want to see his good name dragged through the mud as he was such an excellent servant for England.

Have to be honest, I didn't realise until recently that the Sun had printed that about the Liverpool fans after Hillsborough but now I do I will never buy another copy again.

Sad that journalists are not held accountable for the crap that they print, but I am guessing they probably got a handy payoff from the police involved to shift the focus from the real criminals in the whole event.

Sadly though because the government usually covers up rather than punishes police incompetence I am willing to bet there is little likelihood of any justice now.

?We lost a few players during the international break, especially Eduardo, Van Persie and Diaby,? confirmed Ars?ne Wenger. ?They will all be out for tomorrow?s game.

?Nasri came back with the flu, he is in bed and is not available for the game. He has a small chance of feeling better for Sunday, so maybe he should be available for the Tuesday game.

?Van Persie, Diaby and Eduardo we believe have a little, little, little chance but they could all be short for Tuesday.?

As revealed on Arsenal.com on Thursday, Cesc Fabregas, Emmanuel Adebayor and Theo Walcott will all return to the Arsenal squad to face Manchester City.[:unsure:br />

    • Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 is getting a simultaneous release across PC and all consoles by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Square Enix showed up to the Summer Game Fest presentation today with multiple trailers showing off its next chapter in the Final Fantasy VII Remake saga. The final chapter of this trilogy now has an official name too, with it being dubbed Final Fantasy VII Revelation, following up Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth from recent years. Vincent Valentine, Cid, Cloud, Barret, Tifa, and more showed up in the trailers as they battle against enemies, or 'Weapons,' from the final chapter. "As the world teeters on the brink of annihilation, the final battle against Sephiroth begins," says the trailer description. "A meteor mars the sky, monstrous planetary guardians wreak havoc across the globe, and the fires of war rage. Now, Cloud and his companions must stand against this chaos to not only decide the planet's fate, but bring a legendary conflict to its conclusion." Following the reveal trailer, the show also dropped some gameplay footage that shows off a new way to travel across the open world using the Highwind airship. Players will be able to swap characters on during battles, use tactical mode to synchronize with allies, and summon their entities. Cid Highwind and Vincent Valentine are joining the party this time too. “FINAL FANTASY VII, first released in 1997, has been beloved by fans for many years and has since become a “legend” in its own right," added producer Yoshinori Kitase. "The FINAL FANTASY VII Remake Series that began in 2020 with everyone’s passionate support is finally reaching its climactic finale with FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION. The story’s final destination represents my emotions spanning thirty years working on this title" One of the biggest revelations of this announcement, however, was the multiplatform release confirmation from the get-go. Square Enix will be releasing Final Fantasy VII Revelation across PC, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5 in Spring 2027 without any timed exclusivity programs.
    • Hello, Having a simple utility to allow Microsoft's customers to configure the context menu, with a few options like showing the current menu, showing a proposed menu/alternate configurations, loading and saving the settings, and a "reset to default" option would have solved this. Let Microsoft provide a recommended default look-and-feel, maybe a couple alternative configurations, like a basic/simplified version of that, and a more advanced version for that, and that would have been very well-received, I think. Microsoft could even had offered a library of different configurations, similar to what they have done in the past for Windows Media Player skins, Themes, and desktop wallpaper. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
    • No Steam release. It's gonna fail on PC. Even an Epic Online engineer said that people go there for the free stuff and then immediately go back to Steam.
    • Nice. Admittedly, his other games never interested me, but this seems pretty cool.
    • It's time to say goodbye to Edge and switch back to Firefox. There's no way to disable the ugly rounded corners that appear everywhere. Not even on the page frame. No one uses screens with rounded corners, you idiots.
