Is it just me having a bad night, or have the new weapons really changed the balance of the game? Pyro's seem to have been doing extraordinarily well tonight on the server I was on (like 25% better scores than everyone else), and the Demo is almost unbeatable as a melee class now with new sword + new shield combo.

That'll be more due to general post-update upheaval and the influx of new players.

Things should flatten down after a few days, and maybe the odd bugfix/nerf/buff.

Is there a "in game server browser" for multiplayer gaming? I refuse to install Steam :)

Seeing how much of the game is dependent on Steam, nope.

edit: Not surprised this isn't the first time you indicated your dislike of Steam.

Any reason why you don't like having access to all of your games in one spot?

Because "all my games" are not dependent on Steam.

True :) I do not like Steam at all (or any other distribution related application that applications depend on it)

What's wrong with installing Steam?

Its worthless to me. Just a program occuping space. Nothing else as I dont plan on buying anything off Steam.

Of course it does, however it is dependant on steam.

It does? :) Great. Lets hope I can browse for games without Steam.

Thanks for posting the answer to my original question :)

Err well considering you can't actually load/use or have an account on the game without using a Steam account and Steam, good luck with that one.

Ok so the old crafting system needs to come back.

You can't choose which weapons when you craft if you have more then one, it just picks the first one in your back pack so I just crafted away one of my vintage items.

It always goes for the non-vintage items for me.

Vintage items are worthless, anyway. No point to them.

The new crafting system is awful. Granted, it's easier to craft specific weapons now, but it's much slower for me since I had all my backpack laid out in a specific way, and it worked very well for me.

When crafting, click 'View entire backpack' and it's fine.

One thing I have determined is that for a few weeks the game won't be fun, the new players are too unpredictable and then there's the comp players who join pubs and play far too seriously and generally ruin everyone else's fun.

If anyone finds a server where comp players don't go/aren't allowed so people like myself can ENJOY the game rather than playing far too seriously let me know.

Also I can't see why people would dislike Steam, since it's possibly one of the best ways to manage your games easily. If you are still stuck in the mindset of how it was many years ago when it first launched then you need slapping around with a slice of lemon wrapped around a large gold brick. Because it's easily the best way of managing your games, and when you get a new computer you just install the program and download away.

You missed something in that answer to your original question.

I saw that it had a in game browser. Dependent on Steam or not is irrelevent, as what I do NOT want is Steam installed.

I dont mind that Steam is in the program/game/etc. I just dont want it installed as a standalone application :)

OK, you're missing the point.

You can't use the browser if you don't have Steam installed. Steam is required. Additionally, you must have the standalone application to even install Team Fortress 2. Steam itself takes up a few megabytes, so I really don't understand why you're getting so butthurt about it.

Yeah really. Most games will be well over 2gb in size. Installing steam that takes up a few mb is practically irrelevant.

Just leave this topic, obviously you can not install the game without Steam and since you do not "prefer" that, then what is your purpose here? Just to complain..

Anyways, I just downloaded the game and I shall be getting to it sooner, rather than later.
