Just got back from watching this, and I really loved it - Ledger especially played his role well. Never a dull moment.

The dark soundtrack was awesome as well, so 10/10 from me.

That is Hans Zimmer for you. He did a really good job with the score. I have been listening to it nonstop since I saw the movie. Track 14 is 16+ minutes of pure enjoyment.

This is one of Hans Zimmer's best scores, right up there with Da Vinci Code, Gladiator, and Pirates of the Caribbean 2. Just listening to the TDK score I can pick out elements from all the above, and of course Batman Begins.

I am a huge movie music guy, and I was just so taken in by how much music was used in the movie. It made you feel like every second was important.

You go and ask any uninformed movie goer about the best movie-music composers and they will probably answer "John Williams" just because of the familiarity with him and Star Wars and Indiana Jones. But I really don't think JW is the best, I think Hans Zimmer is. You look at all the major blockbusters and his name is almost always associated with them.

Uhm, Hans Zimmer constantly recycles and rehashes his own music. While I don't bash him like most film-music aficionados do, because I think his music still mostly works in the context of film, there is no doubt that John Williams is the better composer.

No doubt. I bought The Dark Knight's score and you can clearly hear some Pirates of the Caribbean in it and I looked and he did those films too

I saw this yesterday. I thought it was really good except the storyline seemed a bit weak at points and there were a few things I didn't understand so it would probably benefit from another viewing. Heath Ledger was great, but I think that the film itself might have benefited from being a bit shorter.

I agree. If they had slowed it down a bit, maybe saved some angles for a third movie, it would have been an easier watch. But it's still an epic movie, and easily the best movie it's kind.

For example, I was VERY disappointed with the boat scene. When the convict threw the detonator out the window, I thought that was great. After that though, the man in the suit on the other boat should have pressed the detonator.... and blown up his own boat. THAT would have been much more in-line with what the Joker would have done, with what the Joker was trying to prove to the city, and would have made a much stronger statement in the movie. Unfortunately, it would have made the movie TOO dark for Hollywood.

I agree, the fact that what you said didn't happen was a bit weak. I really did think the guy was gonna blow up the convicts, and like you said, it would've made a great statement.

    • Microsoft brings Planner Agent to all Microsoft 365 Copilot users by Ivan Jenic Image: Microsoft Microsoft has announced that Planner Agent in Microsoft 365 Copilot is now generally available to all users with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license. Planner Agent is the latest addition in the string of AI features that Microsoft is implementing across virtually all of its products. The agent lets you manage tasks through natural language prompts directly inside Microsoft 365 Copilot. You can create and update tasks, check priorities, and get insights about current entries without leaving the chat interface. The general availability release comes with a handful of new additions on top of what was available during the initial rollout. A new plan picker lets you search and filter your plans by name, then update task names, statuses, due dates, or priorities through the agent. There's also a goals bucket now, which lets you group tasks under specific goals. This builds on the Goals view, a feature that was introduced as part of the broader Planner refresh that rolled out earlier. Image: Microsoft | Planner Agent in Microsoft 365 Copilot All AI-generated plans and tasks are created in draft mode by default, so you can review and approve changes before anything goes through. This is actually a thoughtful safety feature, because trusting AI to handle all your tasks without a human in the loop is usually a recipe for disaster. Having tasks initially saved as drafts is the best possible middle ground. Microsoft also says that not all tasks are executed equally. Simple tasks get processed quickly, while more complex ones, like building a plan from a Word, Excel, or PowerPoint file, are handed to a more capable model. Microsoft says this approach delivers the best performance, but it could also help with usage management, as you won't have to waste tokens on performing simple tasks. Planner Agent is available now across Teams, Loop, SharePoint, and other Microsoft 365 apps for anyone on a Microsoft 365 Copilot subscription.
