Emo and goth to be made illegal in Russia

As well they should be, both are liable to make children retarded and demean the our species as a whole.

On second thought I read that there is a high risk of suicide related to both groups. I say roll on douchebags, survival of the fittest. As long as you're not breeding go ahead with your make-up wearing self.

this is just a media stunt for making a $ selling sh*t and keep the masses distracted from the real problems of the world.

Haven?t you noticed that from time to time some event is "associated" by the media to some pseudo-cult, first was MTV, then its was the Video Games, now there are EMO's, its just a way to sell you crap and keep you distracted from the REAL problems.

Exactly. In the same way that people in this thread have the right to listen to whatever they want to, and dress how they like.

I really cannot believe the attitudes of some people in this thread. I'm not going to point out individuals, however, if you don't want to look at somebody, nobody's forcing you. If you don't want to take notice of what they look like, nobody's forcing you.

Just because somebody doesn't look like/dress like/listen to the same music as you, it doesn't mean it's wrong.

Exactly, my dad had a strong stereotypical view of my daughters boyfriend and friends till he actually met them face to face and found out you should never judge a book by it's cover. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

Skin tight trousers have been around long before most of you people here, my dad wore than in the 50's /60's and I wore then in the 80's, they were unbelievably tight and if they had even a tiny tiny little bit you could pull we'd refuse to wear them calling them baggy :|

What made him change his mind about him?

I thought they went away in the 70's. :)

I thought so too once.. oh yes.. they still lurk around in the deepest darkest mukiest areas of the society we live in today. Of course this is best illustrated by Eric cartman as you can find hippies in your attic, in your walls, etc. lmao.

I grew up with lots of goth friends and none of them were whiny or suicidal. Most of them "look" the way they did because they were angry at the world, not themselves, and/or did it to rebel against parents or normal standards of beauty in society. And by the "world" I mean government, or corrupt elements of society, or whatever was bothering them. It was a way to express themselves and make a statement through personal tastes. The music was always meant to be spooky, haunting, or whatever dark description can provide and not self loathing. Besides goth is just a stupid label anyway. I mean think about it; does the Cure sound like Marylin Manson? No, but the media would tell you that they're both goth. That is why the stereotyping is really garbage.

It's just like the media made out all raves to be drug-fests in the early 90's, which is a total crap. I used to be a "raver" and have seen more drugs at a concert-hall seeing smashing pumpkins than I ever saw at a rave. And I went to raves every weekend for a few years in the 90's.

It's all fictitious crap spewed by the media that way too many people consume.

Don't Believe the Hype.

What about my right not to have to see people that look like complete tools?
That's not a right. That's your judgement/perception.
There is not a fashion trend in the past 100 years that looks so stupid.

Again your judgement and perception. If it bother's you that much look the other way.

I say we put a stop to it not only so the rest of society doesn't have to look at them, but for their own good as well :p

You come off awfully ignorant, and selfish, almost like a prick! Do you realize that?

This is not fair at all.

They should ban all ugly, depressed and scruffy people.

What about those overly happy people too? they make me sick. :x

My point is, you shouldn't be able to outlaw how people feel and express themselves, unless it cause physical dangers to others. And don't give me bull**** about "pain and suffering" or "emotional distress".... Hell I've had people that upset me in the past because of their attitude and treatment of others. That doesn't mean its right for me to control them.

Oh boo hoo my ex dumped me. It upsets me to look at her, throw her in jail or make the government steal her rights in the name of my "rights".

Well Said. Also +1 for gigapixels post. It's astonishing how many close minded people have showed up in this thread. I don't like jocks (few exceptions) but it shouldn't be up to me or even the government if they are outlawed. IMO, that's just wrong!

The ignorance and arrogance and the sheer stupidity by the majority of the people in here makes me sick to the stomach. You know who you are. If you are against everything that is melancholy and dark, don't ever read shakespeare.

Those who label themselves as goths or emos chose to do so, because it is right for them. It does not matter if they're confused teenagers who have not yet found their place and meaning in this world or not. As long as they do not run around hurting other people, they have all the right to proceed as they wish (within the law).

All those of you who judge them for what they are (humans) must feel like you are a god yourself. It's quite honestly sickening. Why didn't this topic get closed yet?

What if your government would ban HipHop look, Skateboarders or whatever subculture you are part of? Does not seem right, now does it? You guys need to think for once! :(

All those close-minded people annoy me as hell.

Where's the ban on THEM?

Oh snap, now your arguments start to sting back on YOU.
