Lost - Season 5

My guess is Jacob controls Smokey. Smokey cannot directly attack Jaboc. Smokey manipulated Ben to free himself.

It would not make sense, or take a whole season, to skim over the incident NOT happening. The nuke going off is what caused the original incident afterall. Otherwise its a big slap in the face saying "hey nothing happened afterall".

Plus the time theory of it all doesn't make sense.

I don't think so. Maybe because Richard sees the explosion and knows that's what Jack was trying to do, he assumes they all die.

It could also be possible that he saw them die in the first occurence of time, but they actually succeeded in doing it different (as Faraday wanted). Although I agree with you, a massive explosion and the disapperance of them = Richard thinks he saw them die.

I agree with whoever said Jacod healed Ben in the temple. Jacob has also given Richard the ability not to age.

Remember Ben couldn't kill Whidmore directly? Because of "the rules". It seems similar to Jacob and Smokey...

Jacob didn't seem too bothered when Ben was going to kill him. He didn't try to run or anything, and my guess would be he is still "in control" of the situation because of him planning the others to detonate the H bomb.

I was meant to watch all 4 seasons before the 5th, but didn't have time :(

I'm determined to watch them all before the last series. I might even save up the episodes of the last series and watch them all in a day for more epicness...who am I kidding I can't wait that long!

What did happen between Jacob and Locke when Locke was thrown out of the 8th floor Window? Did he just touch locke, or he healed him enough to live, if not walk (coz, the thought of naturally surviving a fall of that magnitude seems to be stretching things too much)?

And was the hut that we were led to believe was Jacob's same as the one in which Rose/Bernard had been living? And when Locke and Ben went to the hut, did we not see a man with a beard like the one Bernard grew?

My wife and I are going to have a Lost marathon where we watch all five seasons before the sixth starts.

This is the plan here at my house ;)

We have pretty much forgotten what season 1 was like so it's safe to say now is a perfect time for a catch up before the next season and it should highlight and help me understand a few things from season 5 all being well, season 5 was a bit of a rollercoaster after all!

I'll call Jacob's beach buddy, Esau.

- Jacob brought the Black-Rock to the Island and Richard being on the Island for a long time means Richard came from the slave ship.

- Esau hid Christian's dead body, just like John Locke's dead body from 316 plane. So, he started using Christian's body from that point on...

- The loophole, as episode said, was dark (Esau) killing light (Jacob)..

- When Jacob said "they're coming", he meant Ilana's group and Richard's group. That's why John looked at the door entrance.

I'm going to re-watch season 3 and 4 to make sure I'm not missing anything else. :D

Esau used Christian's body to tell Locke he needed to die to get everyone back to the island, and tricked Richard in to telling Locke that he needs to die as well. Or did Richard say it and Christian just tell him he knows what needs to be done?

Regardless with Locke dead and his body back on the island Esau got his loophole

Richard told Locke he had to die because that's what Esau-Locke told him to say. Christian was the first to say that he needed to die (chronologically).

I agree. Esau tricked Richard as well. So, when Ben, Richard and Esau walked to Yemi's plane and Esau told Richard to say those things to John Locke caused the chain reaction of Locke trying to kill himself to bring the others back. Yeah, maybe this is the start of the loophole..

Did anyone else Lol at the Rose and Bernard scene?

It was good to see how easily they resolved the question which was lurking about what happened to vincent and them. Also Bernard's hair was soooo gray, he must of ages a lot in three years. Is the cabin they were living in the one that the 316 group and Lupedus stumbled upon?

The coming 8 months will be very long. Rewatch anyone ? :)

I doubt I have the mental capacity to endure that , lol.

My pov everyone thinking they are coming means Ilana and Richard , but I think Jacob was talking about the jolly bunch, Kate, James, Jack, Sun, Jin, Sayid, Hurley.

He touched all of them in a certain way which seemed odd as he didn't give them any purpose or path it was either a chat or a light touch, Faraday was convinced something can be done, maybe the nuke and the energy sent them to the present.

I just think teh white flash at the end has to mean some sort of time travel, which sent people back to the present or elsewhere. Else they could have just ended the frame with a black screen, LOST and a thud.

    • Nice, hope they *finally* fixed the issue with the NTFS driver where the system would completely brick during large file copies using the built in driver. It's been broken for years requiring me to use the older, slower, NTFS-3G FUSE driver.
    • Windows 11 KB5094126 BSODing, freezing, forcing BitLocker lockout, breaks OneDrive, and more by Sayan Sen Microsoft released Windows 11 KB5094126 and KB5093998 last week as the latest Patch Tuesday updates. Following that the company also published the accompanying dynamic updates under KB5094149, KB5095971, and KB5094156. While Microsoft has so far not acknowledged any major problems with the release, some users online are running into problems. These range from OneDrive and Dropbox access issues, BitLocker recovery lockouts, to blue screens and BSODs. The most common one seems to be happening with HP systems wherein affected users say they hit 0xc0430001 BSOD (blue screen of death) error code after the KB5094126 update. We wonder if this could be related to the recent bug we covered on HP devices wherein the ongoing Secure Boot certificate updates are leading to similar issues. While we are not certain, users affected by this issue likely need to ensure that the boot.stl file is included on the installation media (such as a USB installer or ISO), if the above-mentioned dynamic updates are deployed. If this file is missing, computers may fail to boot from the installation media and could display the error 0xc0430001. This STL file is used by Secure Boot to verify that the boot files are trusted, so it must match the same Windows version and system architecture. To ensure the file is included, Microsoft recommends using the Update WinPE script, which automatically updates the image and handles the required files. Alternatively, you can manually copy the boot.stl file from the Windows\Boot\EFI folder on a Windows device and place it in the matching folder on your installation media before deploying the updated image. Aside from blue screening some users also note their systems have been freezing following the update. This could be happening to Lenovo PCs specifically. In the case of the OneDrive and Dropbox access issues, a user figured out that there could be a conflict with UAC. He explained: "Okay, so I did some digging, and in our environment KB5094126 breaks OneDrive and Dropbox in Explorer. I went through all our GPOs and found out that the combination of disabling UAC and having my user being a local admin breaks OneDrive in Explorer. ... If I enable UAC again, then it works, even with KB5094126 still installed." Hopefully, Microsoft will look into these issues. • It is when it's a desktop in my house though for a PC that's lightly used and not really important when it is. If it was a laptop, it would be a different story. The real solution is varied and begins starting at post #22 in that thread.
