Damo R. Veteran Share Posted December 19, 2008 I can see all the English teams coming through their ties, especially Liverpool as Real Madrid aren't very good this season.
ViZioN Share Posted December 19, 2008 They're still Real Madrid though, and I'm sure they can step their game up. I still think Liverpool can come out on top over 2 legs.

Martyn Share Posted December 20, 2008 They are getting huntelaar is going so that's going to be a bonus for Real. They've just spent ?37 million on Huntelaar and Diarra...before the transfer window has already opened:pp! Apparently they can only register one for the CL though.
Damo R. Veteran Share Posted December 20, 2008 I would register Diarra just because their defence is a bit leaky atm.

Kralik Share Posted January 2, 2009 (edited) Real Madrid’s hopes of registering both their two new winter signings, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Lassana Diarr?, for the next phase of the Champions League are fast disappearing after the UEFA president, Michel Platini, personally told Los Blancos supremo Ram?n Calder?n that the rules cannot be changed.A spokesperson for UEFA confirmed with Madrid-based daily Marca that Calder?n had spoken on the phone directly with Platini to clarify the controversial ruling in Article 17.18 which prevents the registration of more than one player who had previously played in the UEFA Cup with one team to feature in the Champions League with another club. Having dished out close to €40 million on Huntelaar and Diarra, Calder?n was hoping to have both available in the knockout stages of Europe’s premier competition. But Platini’s respond to Calder?n was: “I’m sorry, but it cannot be done.” As a last resort, Madrid are now expected to take the issue to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), a move that will not please UEFA. Madrid are just an arrogant bunch of a*******!!! They think they own every player and manager and can do whatever they like.. Hate their attitude.. first it was the Ronaldo business.. now it seems Tevez is on their list and so is Wenger!!! We the Arsenal fans are expecting an onslaught for him if reports are to be believed.. Edited January 2, 2009 by Kralik

Kralik Share Posted January 9, 2009 (edited) More on that.. UEFA have rejected Real Madrid's latest argument to try and get both of their two new signings, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Lassana Diarra, registered for the knockout stages of the Champions League. The defending La Liga champions declared that did not make a mistake in thinking both could play in the European competition, despite the fact the rules state they could not - as both had already played in the UEFA Cup this season with their previous clubs, only one of them could be registered to play in Europe's premier club competition for the remainder of this season. Now, Real Madrid have embarked on a war path to try and ensure that both of their new signings are eligible, but at the moment, it doesn't look like succeeding. The latest news today is that UEFA have rejected another argument from the Spanish side, meaning their next move is to go the Court of Sports Arbitration (CAS). Yet they keep trying to bend and break the laws... they really have a superiority complex.. Edited January 9, 2009 by Kralik

Austen Boshtin Share Posted January 28, 2009 Thank god calderon has stepped down he was a right tool. Thought that every player in the world would play for them cos they have the money. Kinda like the the bitter blues man city, money isn't everything, I stil think man united will be the first team to reclaim the Champions League crown. (not because im a united fan honest :p)
Kralik Share Posted February 1, 2009 Tardelli, who coached Inter for a brief spell in 1999, insists the Italian teams have what it takes to eliminate their opponents."Arsenal - Roma? I watch Arsenal all the time. They are fun to watch, almost unique, but they allow teams to play and thus they risk a great deal," Tardelli told La Gazzetta Dello Sport. "Manchester United - Inter? [Nemanja] Vidic will be missing for the first game and he is decisive. Rooney could have returned. United could play well and win but I think Inter's attack will put them in difficulty. "Juventus - Chelsea? I think Juve are more balanced tactically. I think the Italian teams will all progress." We'll see who gets the last laugh.. but for what Tardelli said.. all I can say now is.. Ha ha ha!!!
idioot Share Posted February 1, 2009 Arsenal currently has the weakest team ever, and only Eduardo would probably be back from injury for the February match...Or Walcott too, dunno ? It could go either way :o

Kralik Share Posted February 1, 2009 (edited) The thing about Arsenal is they always try to walk it in. The thing abt Arsenal is.. they can lose 2-0 to Stoke City or they can beat Man U 2-1.. Our prob was not in talent.. it was in the heads.. but the injuries have certainly created a prob in talent.. we just dont have enf experienced talented players.. Ramsey, Wilshere, Vela are all great.. but unproven.. and getting Arshavin wont make a difference coz he cant play in UCL.. we need more signings from elsewhere.. and only 1 day to go.. btw.. I liked 'the Beast' dunno why we let him go back to Madrid? anyways he's at Roma now and Wenger will sooooon find out whether or not he made the right decision abt him.. nothuman Share Posted February 24, 2009 It's going to be pretty tough for us tonight. But I'm quite confident we can establish a new record of 20 games without defeat in the C1. And let's be honest, Inter is a very strong team but they shown nothing so far in this Champions League. 1 win and they scored only two goals. We can beat them, Mourinho or not.
