Windows Live Wave 3 Out

Recommended Posts

Fedora is right (though really needs to get used to the Neo way of talking).

http://patch.mess.be/?p=light

It CAN patch some basic stuff, I'd suggest trying it out. It is a Java applet that patches it, so you don't have to download anything. If you are using Vista with UAC or are running a limited account, you have to run FF/IE/Browser as an Administrator.

It is very basic though, and removing the ad in the main window doesn't work (yet)

This is good news though, it means that Ahmad will be able to do (at least some) patching too!

Good luck Ahmad! You can do it!

For sure there are still some options that can be patched, such as polygamy, nudges, etc but nothing to the UI.

Hmm... I'm not good at resource editing etc; but Microsoft will not be making themselves popular by doing this.

Damn :( If nothing can be done, or if the final version is like this, then I guess many of us will be considering switching client.

Well, thats not my way of talking... but post number means nothing. (just registered to tell the news to yo guys).

This 100000 post above me need learn some respect and to read things BEFORE attack, etc. Thats bad for the neowin forum.

Well, the news is posted and now I can back to my "espectator only" status.

BTW, good luck Ahmad, your patchs are nice. Looking forward for the new version.

Cya all.

I won't switch. Even as it is now it still is better then 8.5 for me. Only thing that annoys me is the ad in the contact list. But, I can imagine some people would rather have a lot patched.

I'd like to remove the contacts list ad and the one line of text at the bottom of chat windows. Besides that the rest of the UI is fine and 90% similar to what I had when I used 8.5 or the older 9 releases patch.

At the moment the current options available are:

Polygamy

Remove Advertisement (in IM window)

Remove Nudge Delay

Remove Nudge Shake

Remove Featured Content

Accept more than 3 files (transfers) at a time

Disable Windows Live Spaces Contact Card Integration

i'm happy for the one i underlined! thanks!!!!!!!!! you're my hero!

Praise be to God.

I'd like to thank TheSteve and also give shoutouts to Willz, Ipab, TB & Matt Hollwood for working on the "protection" work-around, now we finally go back to customizing Messenger like we used to!

So after 8 hours straight updating A-Patch for Windows Live Messenger 9 version 14.0.5027.0908, with no further adue I can finally bring you A-Patch with a whopping 56 options to play with! Some options were removed because it seems that the Messenger team implemented them wink.gif And some more options will be added in future builds God-Willing, including the "Preview"!

    • You are clueless. The updates are done in the background so the next time you open Edge the updates are applied automatically. There is no need to close all your tabs. Just keep browsing like you normally do. Clearly you don't use Edge and are just one of those haters that complain for the sake of complaining.
    • I don't get this David. Can you explain it please.
    • Microsoft is busy. Lots of changes to be released imminently for Windows server or soon. Also, lots happening for next version as well. Third party virus scanning software is being moved out of Kernel mode to avoid repeat of Crowdstrike incident. Windows Protected Mode and Windows Ready Print no longer require third party print drivers to be installed. New storage stack being developed. New NVME drivers now available for Windows Server 2025 to improve local NVME drive performance by 60+ percent. NVME-Of of fabric being worked on for next release to improve network access to NVME drives. ReFs (next file system) now has ability to boot and will become default file system in next release of Windows Server. ReFs improves on NTFS in several areas including resiliency and reliability and scalability. New update stack is being worked on to unify Windows updates, and updates for drivers and first party/3rd party application software. A stricter and more robust third-party driver certification program (ODI) is being worked on to improve performance, thermals, battery life, and reliability on modern Windows hardware by tightening how OEMs and IHVs (Intel, AMD, Qualcomm, NVIDIA, etc.) build and ship drivers. There is a tone more but too numerous to mention.
