[Official] Gears of War 2

I won't lie...I've been playing Gears of War 2 again. I just learned how to do the shield glitch last night and find it very non useful. The melee through walls is great though, but very cheap. I do weapon slide as I believe it is not really a glitch that needs to be addressed. Title updates seems great and I'm glad it is coming soon.

Can't wait for that patch. Gears has got a lot of flak from a lot of people, but that hasn't stopped all my buddies (myself included) and a lot of people enjoying playing the game as is. This patch will address some issues, but no matter what they do, there are some things that Epic just can't fix. Bring on the pre-complaints!

I haven't played GoW2 online but I must say that for a company that was made the company it is today largely on the back of it's online gameplay they certainly seem to be struggling to a degree in that field with both bugs in GoW 1 and 2 and UT3's rather lack luster reception. Thats not to take away from GoW's online success despite the flaws, but I am surprised that they have been somewhat sloppy in that regard over the past 2 or 3 years. After GoW1 I certainly expected them not to go through the same old again.

I guess GoW1 on PC can't be called flawless either. It's a shame and I'd love to see Epic concentrate a bit more on the quality control rather than having gamers waiting for patches because they feel the game is unplayable.

Smigit, I think most of the bugs deal with getting into cover. With a very ambiguous cover system like they have, programming must be a nightmare. No matter what they do, some bugs cannot be fixed and are just part of the game.

Even with that said people try to say the glitches ruin the game, but anymore my buddies and find a match in usually under a minute, no lag, and nobody glitches anymore (which I was pretty surprised about).

wow last night when I was playing Horde, there was a Locust glitch. It was the last guy of the wave, and he suddenly flipped up in the air! and practically was just standing in the air and shooting us. Of course we take damage, but when we shot back, he just won't die! He ended up killing all 3 of us... that was just retarded.

Maybe it's just me, but I hate when developers release updates that add new achievements if they're going to force you to download content to get that (and pay for it).

It's you. That or your among achievement ######. No one is forcing you to buy the maps, wether or not they add achievements, it doesn't make a difference.

I like getting achievements, but I don't see why you're bothered about new achievements being with new dlc.

I'm pretty sure games themselves are only allowed to have 1000 GamerScore, and the extra GamerScore that is allowed for that game must be DLC.

I might not be correct but I think I am.

You are correct. Crackdown had a similar scenario, where paid DLC was released and there were new achievements that came with the new content.

It also teleports, stands there waiting for you to come kill it and I'm sure it's a Bloodmount.Beast Rider riding an invisible "beast".Hey,sometimes there are 2 of them, just floatin',chillin..waitin' on you to kill'em. :D

Not necessarily. It can just be for an update. Bioshock has 1100 from an update.

And you guys are missing my point. If people don't want to be associated with bad DLC, don't associate it with them. It's the same reason you don't buy games -- they don't interest you, you don't like them, or they're crap (or you don't feel the price is justified). I think DLC should only have achievements attributed to those that buy it. I think the current Gears 2 DLC is crap, for instance.

I swear, all 4 of us couldn't take down that one single floating Drone. Instead it was armed with a shotty and well we died, because no matter how much ammo you waste on it, it does NOT DIE! LOL!

    • I'm too old to return to the "good old days" when I was installing custom ROMs and tinkering with my devices - now I just want to turn it on and use it. I've read that banking and payment apps work on Murena /e/OS (I'll have to check the ones I use) and I also really want to support Fairphone 😉

    • NVIDIA announces 35 new AI HPC supercomputers across Europe by Fiza Ali NVIDIA has announced that 35 AI high-performance computing (HPC) supercomputers are planned to open throughout Europe this year. This marks what the company describes as the largest single-year expansion of AI infrastructure in the history of the continent. These new systems, unveiled at ISC High Performance 2026, will be placed at a number of national supercomputing centres, AI factories, and research institutes to provide advanced computing resources to more than three million researchers. Describing AI, NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang stated, "AI is the new instrument of science, and Europe is building the infrastructure to put it in the hands of millions of researchers." Built on NVIDIA's Blackwell and Hopper architectures, the new systems will support research in climate science, healthcare, clean energy, quantum computing, and other scientific fields. Among the major projects are the Barcelona Supercomputing Center's MareNostrum 5 AI upgrade, BavariaAI's Blue Swan platform in Germany, Italy's IT4LIA AI factory, Germany's HammerHAI project, and Sweden's Mimer AI Factory. The Barcelona Supercomputing Center plans to expand MareNostrum 5 with NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 and GB200 NVL4 systems. In total, the BSC expects to deliver up to 20 exaflops of AI training performance and 33 exaflops of AI inference performance. This increased computational capability will support research efforts related to climate modelling, biotechnology, energy systems, etc. Furthermore, as part of the IT4LIA project, more than 8,000 GPUs, each based on NVIDIA’s GB200 NVL4 architecture, will be used in Italy. This represents one of the largest AI factory initiatives announced to date. Additionally, the Blue Swan platform from BavariaAI will include about 1,000 GPUs to help develop multimodal AI models for use in the medical field, robotics, and various areas of scientific research. NVIDIA also emphasized in the announcement how rapidly growth of accelerated computing usage is taking place within both energy and climate-related research. The company said Siemens Energy uses NVIDIA-powered technologies to significantly accelerate the process of designing and simulating hydrogen-capable gas turbines. Using those same acceleration technologies, Siemens was able to reduce simulation time by up to 77 percent. The company also highlighted several quantum computing initiatives across Europe. CINECA, EuroHPC, and Pasqal are integrating a quantum processing unit into Italy's CINECA supercomputing centre using NVIDIA's CUDA-Q platform. Meanwhile, researchers at Germany's Julich Supercomputing Centre recently simulated a universal 50-qubit quantum computer on the JUPITER supercomputer. The announcement demonstrates Europe's continued commitment to building out its infrastructure supporting AI and supercomputing as governments, research organizations, and technology companies compete to build out their respective computing capacities and secure their positions in advanced scientific research.
    • Any word on a fix for this? Even a work around would be nice,
