Windows 7 build 7068 Screenshot (Yes, it's real)

I don't trust modified ISO's anymore. Someone I know downloaded the 7000 beta from a private FTP, it was before the official release. He was happy etc. but after a month he had problems with porno-popups and other spyware, without any reason :) Seemed his ISO was modified with a sort of timebomb which released the spam..

You do not know if this is true. Everyone assumes.

Are you still going on about this? Get over it already! All we keep reading from you is "it's been modified, it's been modified." It's getting very tiresome!

For the record, I'm using Solar's modified iso with NO problems!! Installed great and runs perfect. Passed all scans. Great Work!!!

I get a bunch of graphics issues when using dual monitors on my work laptop. When docked using the default WDDM 1.1 Intel 965 drivers, Aero would go all messed up (see attachment) I had to install the WDDM 1.0 drivers from Intel's website to stop this. This didn't happen in 7057.

Also, Since 7057 whenever I've had Firefox on the secondary monitor, right clicking would bring the menu's up on the primary monitor. Whist it could be Firefox's fault, I never had it in 7048 and below.

It's kinda annoying that they limit who can access connect's feedback area, as I'd really like to get these reported.

maybe there is untouched out there, forget about it :p everyone and there own stories.

do you realize that while not olnly being very annoying you are also being very detrimental to your own cause by saying the same thing over and over again on every thread you get your hands on?? also, insulting people is not going to get your point across.

you said your piece, let it go!

my point was that I'm using one of the "modified" iso's with no problems, regardless of what was modified, it makes no difference, it works, and there are no virus or trojans!

I have the same AllSKU burned and its running perfect. Great Job! I scanned it with Avira Prem and Malwarebytes AM to make sure. Its clean, before and after install.

Anyone else get this message in action center in 7068? So there's a problem here, or the action center updated for the future antivirus programs?

Update to Nod32 4.0 - fixed this.

Nothing special. Pretty much all devices have 64 bit drivers (unless they're *really* old and were discontinued 5+ years ago and such).

32 bit apps work fine as well, but programs like firewall and antivirus require a special 64 bit version. All major vendors are offering one though, so no problem either.

Thank you. I have a Philips branded laptop, assembled by DSG (Currys/Dixons/Pc World-electronic store for those who don't know)-I am expecting some difficulty in finding all the drivers but can always revert back to x86 upgraded from Vista if needs be.

AV is Avira free. FW is Look n Stop. Both come in x64.

Am in two minds whether to wait for the RC or go for 7068-the WMP bug is a big drawback though.

Rather off-topic: Can anyone explain how they get a BLACK theme please? Playing around with transparency has only given me a grey-ish theme.

For this build, can i just mount the ISO and install it from windows, or am i going to have to waste a DVD for it?

I extracted the ISO using Winrar to an external drive. Clicked the setup.exe and installed. Worked perfectly.

Though I've since reformated, backed up my Vista info and am only running 7068.

Here is a really stupid question (as I never before cared about this) that I find no reason to spam a new topic about.

I recently put a password on my W7 account, but it really useless as I can just boot into XP and access everything in my W7 account without a password.

How do I set the NTFS permissions correctly?

I don't think you can. An admin of either XP or Win7 would have the [local] authority to override any other permissions?

As the person above said, however, I might suggest bitlocker. If I am wrong, I apologize, but I believe you can encrypt the drive with Windows 7 on it using Bitlocker but the other drive that is not incrypted may still work. I have not tried this since I do not dual boot, but it is an idea.

Only problem i have is that my built in card reader on my laptop (HP G70-120EA) doesnt work, hope a newer beta will add driver support for the card reader, all the other components work fine with windows 7.

lets hope a newer build leaks soon.

I have that same laptop but haven't tried Windows 7 on it yet. Have you tried downloading the Vista card reader driver from HP and seeing if that works?

The vista 64bit drivers from hp's website dont work, they bsod win7 and restart the pc. i've tried the vista 64 drivers from realtek's website and win7 wont detect them. Windows7 seems to think the built in drivers are fine but it wont load my SD card, the card loads fine on vista though.

if driver developers from MS are watching, please fix the realtek card reader drivers for windows7 x64 please.

    • It won't perform hugely better than the 3080 unless you're VRAM limited in games. Have you tried putting new thermal pads on them 3080 and giving it a good clean to see if you can regain your temps and overclock?
    • Windows 95 offered the ability to add and edit the right click menus, on a per file type basis. This feature seems to be missing in the new file explorer. Are they bringing it back as a "new" feature?
    • It's nearly time to replace my aging Founders Edition 3080, it doesn't OC as nicely as it used to and it's running around 10c warmer than it did when I first bought it.  I don't have budget for much more than what I spent on the 3080 and locally, that means the best GPU I can manage is a 9070XT. On this basis I have a few questions: 1. At present I don't use ray tracing, if this was to change, would this GPU be an issue? 2. How does it compare on a performance basis? 3. Are the drivers worse or better than those for nVidia? 4. Linux support, is it there? 5. Anything else I should be aware of if I were to make this change? 6. Is it a good idea or shall I try and keep the 3080 a little longer.
    • What OS is that? It looks a bit like Mac OS but the command line suggests it isn't, either way I like it!
