OMG FINALLY got my pure bladestone :woot: Must of farmed this dual wielding black phantom skeleton just over 100 times. Not a bad amount according to some people online, considering the drop rate is like 0.5% and people are in the 100's.

purebladestone.jpg

I was about to give up as well seeing as I lost 640k souls not long before this :pinch:

Incase anyone wonders what you need to go through,

Around the corner there is another 2 black phantom golden skeletons that are worth soul sucking for exp (they have a chance to drop chunk of bladestone also, the rare category under pure).

I just saw some videos and now I'm looking forward to get this game. Looks interesting.

Me too, but I'm most likely gonna wait for it to come out here officially. I don't wanna pay ~?50.

Paid ?45 for my copy, I know it's not much under the ?50 but that's how much the local retailler was selling fo:) :)

Call me fussy, but I prefer a localised version if possible, so I'll prefer to wait at least until the American version comes out. The only PS3 game I've bought outside of Europe is Initial D Extreme Stage.

EDIT: OK, I may change my mind after seeing the Deluxe Edition pre-order on Amazon.com. Just over ?40 and you get an artbook and the soundtrack CD, which is a pretty good deal!

Does anyone know a way of ordering an Amazon.com item outside of America? I mean actually shipping it outside of America. If there isn't a way, then would an American on here be kind enough to let me order one to their address then they ship it out for me in exchange for a few quid in their pocket:p :p

EDIT 2: It's looking a bit more promising. I looked at all the sites linked on the official Demon's Souls site, and three of them will ship to me: Videogamesplus.ca, Gamestop.com, and EBGames.com (which on close inspection, looks fairly similar to Gamestop's site; it uses the same shipping pag:p :p ) In terms of Gamestop and EBGames, they both charge the full $70 retail, and they charge only $15 shipping for the UK, so $85 in total, which is roughly ?50, which isn't bad, considering it's the deluxe edition and it's with shipping included:); :) I'll bookmark the links, but I'm not fully decided yet.

This game is only out in Asia?? The game is in English with English subtitles???

I believe it's out in 2-3 'Eastern' Regions. But yes there are English Voice and Text versions out there :) It's currently underway for US release form Atlus and still no word of an EU release that I'm aware of.

It's been a long journey but I'm closing in on the Platinum.

Should be able to do it in one more playthrough, just finishing my second now :) New Game Plus is much harder, I'd recommend any newcomers level as much as they can first time through and try to do as much as they can completion/trophy wise. I've lost hundreds of thousands of souls this playthrough from dieing, probably easily over 1 million :(

I badly need a Pure Moonlight stone, however it only drops from the crystal geckos who have a limited respawn count meaning if it doesn't drop, you need to wait till your next playthrough :( Although drop rate is fairly decent, I've just had bad luck.

Each further new game only ramps difficulty by around 8%, new game ++ shouldn't be as steep as new game +.

Number 1 video walkthrough from Atlus is up, explains what the game is about and it's features (these aren't gameplay walkthroughs, more information for a buyer)

Hope people buy this when it hits America, my favourite RPG this generation, one of my favourite games also. It's not a mass market appeal RPG though. I'll update this topic with each video walkthrough as it pops up.

Not yet, I started playing other games. Still have around 10-15 hours till I get my plat, need to pretty much complete the game once more, but I'll be doing it quickly without caring about loot and the likes.

Demon?s Souls PS3 Video Walkthrough Part Twob>

AtlusA.R.A.M. here with part two of our Demon?s Souls video walkthrough series. While our first part served primarily as an introduction to the game for newcomers, focusing on basics, this second video dives headlong into the most significant, most discussed, most acclaimed feature in the upcoming PlayStation 3-exclusive action RPG: online functionality.

Where most games offer multiplayer as a separate mode, something detached from the main experience, Demon?s Souls takes the single-player games from online PS3 owners across the country, treats them as individual worlds in an interconnected universe, and allows the worlds to bridge from time to time, leading to some exciting cooperative and competitive interaction between players, in addition to the awesome messaging and bloodstain features.

There?s never really been a gaming experience quite like Demon?s Souls, and we?re excited to be able to show you, in detail, exactly why that?s the case.

Demon?s Souls releases on October 6 in two flavors: standard ($59.99) and deluxe ($69.99). The deluxe edition nets you a 160-page strategy guide (not sold separately!) and a beautiful embossed slipcase with foil accents. Pre-order EITHER version at a participating retailer (while supplies last) and you?ll also receive a 40-page, full-color art book and the game?s full soundtrack CD ? all at no extra cost to you.

Thanks for all your support!

Another good video walkthrough to watch if you're interested in the title.

Does the new NA version have any extras/upgrades/fixes to the EU/Asia version?

There is no EU version :p

I think it's just a complete overhaul of the rather average English translation in the Asian copy, which is why they're offerings lots of free content with the US version, to try and tempt importers to double dip.

Well that and the USA copy has it's own servers for the online component, you'll be playing with fellow Americans, not Japanese/Chinese/Asians.

why cant these games come with japanese voice, and eng sub... the eng voices are just horrible...

Have you even played the game?

English voice acting is pretty damn good, every character has their own unique accent, Scottish blacksmith ftw :p

Man will everyone stop talking me into buying this game.

I keep telling myself, with a new born, that I only have about 1-2 hours a night to play vids and catch up on all my other games. After hearing all the talk and reviews I don't think I will be able to keep myself away....even though I'm going to be spending 6 months trying to get past the first level....

That made me think of a question. Can you save the game at any point? I'm just wondering if I can only play for an hour and I have to quit am I going to have to start the level over or anything like that?

Wherever you quit you will automatically load there again, even if it's half way through a level :)

Another review, 9.5/10

Just got this e-mail from Atlus. It's the unboxing video for the North American Deluxe Edition.

Video:

I await my copy. :)

Makes me want to double dip badly :(

    • Nobody is buying a PS5 only for playing Until Dawn 2. Their loss.
    • If you actually used it instead of responding like a petulant child you might be surprised. I switched from Google some time ago and have been very satisfied.
    • I am one of the first people to use the DXVK technology. In the channel below you can see some videos that I have made using this technology, including Assassin's Creed Odyssey. https://www.youtube.com/@nahum7995/videos Assassin's Creed Odyssey experienced several bugs and technical issues during its first months after release. It launched with its own fair share of funny but frustrating glitches. I ran it on DXVK 9 days after its release and I played it for many hours but didn't see a single significant bug on Linux. Assassin's Creed Odyssey is widely celebrated for pushing the franchise in bold new directions and specifically for nailing several elements better than any other title in the AC series: Player Choice & Branching Narrative, The Mercenary & Cultist System, Mythological Integration, Overpowered Combat Abilities, Open World Exploration But what I'm trying to point out is that this game wasn't quite playable on most windows systems, until a few months after its release when most of the bugs were fixed. However, on Linux it ran completely flawless from day one, although DXVK had seen little development and refinement at the time. What do you think the situation will be in 2026 now that most bugs and glitches of DXVK have been completely eliminated? This is information from Google about these situations that I am quoting. In many cases, using DXVK (a translation layer that converts DirectX 9, 10, or 11 into Vulkan) can result in more stable frame times and higher performance than native Windows rendering. This happens primarily by bypassing driver overhead and multithreading draw calls that were previously restricted to a single CPU core. Older APIs (like DirectX 9 and 11) are largely single-threaded on the CPU side. DXVK translates these calls to Vulkan, which is highly multi-threaded. This reduces CPU-bound stuttering on weaker processors. In certain cases, GPU manufacturers (especially AMD) have significantly better and more modern Vulkan drivers than they do for legacy DirectX. Vulkan gives developers—and in this case, the translation layer—closer control over how resources are held in VRAM. This can prevent micro-stutters and sudden frame drops during chaotic gameplay. Yes, certain games, particularly older DirectX 9 to 11 titles, can run with fewer crashes on DXVK than on native Windows. By intercepting DirectX draw calls and translating them into the modern, highly efficient Vulkan API, DXVK bypasses the limitations and poor driver support that cause instability in aging game engines. PlayStation 1, PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3 can be easily and perfectly emulated on Linux. In fact, modern Linux emulators offer high-performance upscaling, widescreen patches, and automatic controller mapping out of the box.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 PlayStation 1/2/3 games look drastically better on Linux thanks to resolution upscaling. Furthermore, it is also a fact that you cannot play many fun games on Windows either, isn't it? - The Nintendo Switch has an extensive library of exclusive games. - PlayStation has an extensive library of exclusive games - Android has "mobile-exclusive" games, meaning they are exclusive to mobile devices (iOS and Android) and aren't available on PC or consoles. And finally, it is also the case that in the next five years there will be games that millions of people will say you absolutely must play and that they want to play this specific game that released a few days ago. However, the other side of this story is that currently, absolutely no one cares that they cannot play these upcoming games right now.
