[Official] Forza 3

Recommended Posts

You can still see the heavy compression in those images, just look at the Forza 3 logo in the bottom corner. I mean, the image is 72kb?

It's a shame, if only they were allowed to export to the hard drive.

I was just playing the demo and a while back, someone mentioned you could do hot-laps ( without AI drivers on the road ) but I've looked everywhere and could find no such thing? It's impossible to set some decent times when you have the AI blocking you at every turn despite of difficulty. I still manage to beat almost everyone on my friends list with like 4-5 seconds despite my poor times

what, you don't know how to do hot laps and drifting laps yet ?

just hit Y on the screen with the map when you are ready to start the race.

A friend of mine got his copy today (think he ordered from Amazon).. sadly he's waaaay up in Scotland so not like I can pop over and check it out! Doh!

had I not ordered the ltd edition I would probably have had it today, but it doesn't fit in an envelope :p

My copy shipped today :) should show up next week sometime if I'm lucky (Australia Post is a joke)...but probably won't be able to play it till mid November, as my 120Gb HDD is not due to ship till next month :s :( ...well that is if I can't squeeze it onto my already rather full 20Gb HDD!

Got it today but only had time for about an hour. Already got annoyed with the AI. Unless you switch damage off and plough your way through them, i can't see how you would get first.

Not tried it online, i hope some people online play with a bit of respect.

Supposedly according to the reviewer, in the option the AI has a check box for psyke outs, so if you have a big car and come up behind them real fast, or act threatening at corners and such, there's a chance they'll run off the road.

Except for that, I suppose you'll need to get first just like every other driver out in the world, drive better and more aggressive :p don't be a chicken at the corners, and if you use the raceline, don't start braking when it turns orange, most cars can go significantly into the red before needing to brake.

And if the game is not here when I get home from work... I'll be really annoyed.

    • I'd say the first one failed to be as popular as Apple anticipated, but the easy adjustment here is to make fewer of them next time around. It would only be a "flop" if it isn't possible for Apple to recover the design and factory tooling costs given the number of units sold, which I doubt would be the case. It isn't like no one bought them; it just failed to become the new hot phone of the year.
    • You're right that it does not follow the plain meaning of the word, but in this context, it is a legal term defined in 49 U.S.C. Kind of how "wire fraud" laws apply even if a physical wire was not used. Given that it is codified in law, and it isn't just automotive journalists that don't understand evolving technology, I highly doubt congress would change a well understood term just because technology makes the term slightly less actuate.
    • This is exactly why I keep saying we are not ready for human free self-driving. These little "bugs" are may seem like random one-offs. There was also the Waymo that drove between police with drawn weapons and the suspect they were pointing them at. From a software perspective it is easy to understand how those extremely rare situations may not have been programed for, but that is the point. If AI needs to be told to watch out for every possible contingency, then it can never be successful. There will always be the possibility of a first encounter that the AI needs to understand to avoid.
