The Big TNA Wrestling Thread

Bryan Danielson is a huge loss for WWE (unless he either resigns, or never left...) and could be a huge gain for TNA. But then again, they've done practically nothing with Desmond Wolfe (ugh) that warrants Bryan Danielson coming to TNA to be put in a stable or buried like all the other great ROH guys (other than Samoa Joe etc).

Dixie Carter just tweeted the following: "Just spoke to RVD. Looks like you get ur wish. RVD vs. Sabu tonight in main event. Lots of great surprises planned too."

I am not going to watch live maybe catch the repeat...not sure I really care that much...but I think will be great to see the talent again.

It's to bad Jerry Lynn couldn't make it due to the back injury since I'd much rather see him than Sabu vs/ RVD. Sabu's body is just BROKEN at this point. All he can do are a couple big spots and pray he doesn't break an arm or his neck again (literally). But then again, RVD is nothing but a spot machine himself, so meh. Hell, I'd rather see RVD vs. Rhino for the main event if they wanna go old school ECW. Or even Raven. But he's gonna lose to Tommy Dreamer (for the 2nd time lol) :D

Oh and YAY, New Jack is gonna show up for the PPV tonight. Yay. Y..a...y?

So what were the big surprises from the PPV?

Well not much, unless you count that Foley STILL sucks on the stick, horribly at times lol I mean he called some of the wrestlers by their past names like Bubba Ray and Blue Meanie instead of Brother Ray and Blue...whatever he was called last night. Mick SAID ECW on air, major no no. But, I doubt Vince is gonna give two poops about that anyways. He just makes to many mistakes still. Well, at least he doesn't have Vince screaming in his ear all the time about it now...

Let's see. Mustafa showed up with New Jack, that was a pretty nice surprise. And yes, they did play the Gangsta's rap song throughout their "beat down" portion.

Sandman needs to stop sucking down beer so much, badly. But he's still the Sandman. Sabu was alot better than I thought he'd be, but he lost to RVD naturally. Dreamer didn't win, shockingly. Surprised Raven would win it, but then again Dreamer was booking most of this show so it makes sense (he'd do what's right for the storyline, not the person involved). Nice to see some of the old crew for sure (CW Anderson can still go baby!).

Biggest surprise of the show? Heyman didn't show up :(

just finished watching it and well I will give them props but it still didn't feel the same and I still feel ONS was miles better but Tommy Dreamer vs Raven was sick! that crossface with the barbed wire! :woot:

-- Joey Styles was obviously not allowed to appear on the TNA HardCORE Justice PPV last night since he is a WWE employee (WWE.com, etc).

-- Paul Heyman could have appeared at the show but opted not to. As noted several weeks ago here on the website, he was not very high on the idea of doing another ECW tribute show.

the show wasn't the best ... but it sure was a lot better than WWECW One Night Stand since there were no 'company' guy and it only ECW (well, EV2.0).

at least on this one, it was only ECW guys and not the big guns that the owner creams in their pants for.

it was all a gimmick to make money, the ironic part being the buyrates were most likely such **** that TNA lost money.

you don't mean the first ONS because that was epic, the second was really crap though.

Yeah the first ONS had RVD and Heyman and Dreamer scripting it. And the WWE guys all got owned. And except for Angle, Edge and JBL, were there any WWE guys of note there besides Bischoff? Nope :p

Hardcore Justice was a shambles of a PPV, sorry. Read Mark Madden's post on Wrestlezone about it. Pretty much sums up my view on it. Well, I wouldn't be so harsh, but still.

As noted earlier today here on the website and on TNAWrestlingNews.com, former WWE Women's Champion Mickie James is expected to sign a contract with TNA Wrestling today ? if she hasn't already. Those close to the situation have indicated that James would finalize her contract today, but additional details are not available at press time. It appears as though the two sides have definitely agreed to a verbal deal though.

Despite her release from World Wrestling Entertainment earlier this year and simultaneous foray into the country music world, James continued her wrestling career as she has appeared on numerous independent shows since that time.

According to one source, James is expected to debut in October, likely at the October 7th live TNA iMPACT! or the October 10th TNA Bound For Glory PPV.

THonline.com is featuring an interview with TNA's Jeff Jarrett where he talks about the touring of the company and where things are headed in 2011 and TNA vs. WWE.

"We're taking the company into the year 2011 and beyond and intend to become the most powerful wrestling organization in the world. When WWE bought WCW in 2001, it left a huge void in the market place. Without a No. 2, there can't be a No. 1. Quite frankly, our roster is better than their roster. They're a publicly traded company that has 50 years of history. From a business standpoint, they've got such a head start. But we're finding a niche in our own way."

One of those long time lurkers here. saw this thread on the latest threads list on the main page and was surprised to see a few TNA fans here. While I'm not a huge fan of the Hogan era, i would personally rather watch TNA than WWE. The Big "E" has just gotten too damn repetitive.

Saw this post over at tnainsider.com (don't mean to spam but it's a nice place to talk about TNA anyway) and kinda thought it was odd. Seems like something WWE would do over TNA but whatever.

TOTAL NONSTOP ACTION (TNA) WRESTLING LAUNCHES ANTI-BULLYING CAMPAIGN

TNA?s ?Eliminate the Hate? Campaign Launches This Week

Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling wants to put a headlock on bullying, an epidemic that has gripped the U.S. for decades, but has recently gained national attention this fall with its link to a number of teen suicides.

TNA officials today announced TNA?s ?Eliminate the Hate? campaign, aimed at ending bullying of all kinds.

TNA Wrestling is implementing a massive marketing effort for their ?Eliminate the Hate? campaign. PSAs will be featured on TNA programming, including its Thursday night line-up on Spike (TNA iMPACT! and ReAction/ 9pm-12am ET). In addition, spots will be placed on all other TNA Wrestling platforms, including their website (www.tnawrestling.com), DVDs and all social networking sites including Facebook? and Twitter?.

TNA is also working closely with the hit Sirius XM? primetime show, Derek & Romaine, as well as other Sirius XM? programs, and with broadcast partner Spike, who will air the PSAs across their network.

There are several TNA Wrestling superstars who know all too well about the childhood trials and tribulations of being bullied because they once were on the receiving end of unwanted, unprovoked, persistent taunts from bullies.

TNA?s Mr. Anderson, for instance, was bullied as a teen growing up in Two Rivers, Wis., and Fortune member Kazarian was well aware of bullying taunts as a youngster growing up in Southern California. ?The Pope? D?Angelo Dinero was bullied while growing up in Jacksonville, Fla., but turned the tables in high school ? and protected those who were being bullied.

?Sadly, bullying is a national problem, and it crosses into all races, religions and every socioeconomic status,? Anderson said. He added a personal note, "Growing up, I was bullied until I was a freshman in high school because I didn't conform to a group or play sports. I was open that I liked video gaming and comic books and got picked on for that. I eventually took Tae Kwon Do and Eskrima lessons because the bullying was relentless and I thought it would come to a fight. But when the bullies heard I was taking martial arts classes, they backed off.?

?Everyone at TNA stands firmly behind this new anti-bullying campaign. The bullying must stop, and we want to take a stand,? said TNA Chief Marketing Officer, Al Ovadia, himself a father of two. ?There?s no place in our schools for bullying, be it based on a student?s looks, race, sexual orientation or anything else.?

TNA launched its ?Eliminate The Hate? campaign this week in conjunction with Jeff Hardy?s appearance on The Talk (CBS-TV) when Hardy appeared in support of a bullied teen. Hardy, the reigning TNA World Heavyweight Champion, personally invited Tyler Wilson, 11, to Orlando, Fla., for a taping of ?TNA iMPACT!? on Spike TV (Thursday, 9 p.m. ET), including a backstage meet-and-greet with other TNA Superstars.

?I?m happy to support Tyler and anyone who has been bullied, and I know I can say that all of the other wrestlers on the TNA roster agree with me on this stance: the bullying needs to stop, now,? Hardy said. ?I guarantee Tyler will have an amazing time in Orlando and know he will be the envy of his class after his trip.?

One of the largest studies ever on bullying, the Ethics of American Youth Survey by the Josephson Institute of Ethics, finds 50 percent of those surveyed said they had ?bullied, teased or taunted someone at least once,? and 47 percent had been ?bullied, teased or taunted in a way that seriously upset me at least once.? The study, from the non-profit based in Los Angeles, surveyed 43,321 teens ages 15 to 18, from 78 public and 22 private schools.

    • Telltale returns with The Wolf Among Us, re-revealing the sequel and a new remaster by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Telltale Games, the studio known for its episodic games from the 2000s, had a surprise appearance at the Summer Game Fest showcase today. The studio has gone through a collapse, an acquisition, and a revival but has largely gone silent in recent years. Today's sudden announcement was for the popular The Wolf Among Us series, with news about the sequel and a remaster dropping. Set after the events of the 2013-released title, the sequel will bring back Biby Wolf for a new adventure in Fabletown. This town of fairy tale characters is becoming unstable, with Snow White not being able to keep order as before. "When a brutal series of crimes threatens to fracture the fragile balance holding Fabletown together, Bigby Wolf, sheriff of Fabletown, finds himself drawn into a dangerous conspiracy that reaches deep into the city’s criminal underworld," says the studio. "As suspicion spreads across the city and powerful forces work against him, Bigby must uncover the truth and decide what kind of sheriff - and what kind of wolf - he is willing to become." At the same time, Telltale also announced The Wolf Among Us Remastered, bringing back the classic with a fresh coat of paint. This will include all five episodes from the original game plus over an hour of extra content that will offer behind-the-scenes videos, cast interviews, image galleries, and deleted scenes. The remaster will also have updated visuals and improved UI elements and accessibility features, alongside upgrades to the animations, audio, and frame rates. Telltale has been working on this project for almost a decade now, but if the new release schedule holds, fans will be able to jump into The Wolf Among Us 2 sometime in 2027. As for The Wolf Among Us Remastered, this is slated to release during this holiday season.

    • Alien Isolation 2 will bring a new protagonist and setting, watch the reveal trailer here by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Only a few weeks ago, Sega and Creative Assembly dropped a teaser for a new Alien Isolation. Today at Summer Game Fest, Alien: Isolation 2 was officially announced with a new trailer while also confirming a whole lot of information about the setting of this survival horror project. Check out the reveal trailer above. Leaving behind the Sevastopol space station, the sequel will take players to a remote colony world. With a Xenomorph (or more) on the loose, players will be navigating both the surface of the weather-ravaged planet as well as "the claustrophobic confines of the Weyland-Yutani outpost of Kurosaki Station." Interestingly, Creative Assembly is leaving behind Amanda Ripley, the daughter of Alien's Ellen Ripley, as the protagonist too. While it hasn't confirmed a name yet, players will be taking the role of a new character for this new adventure. The setting is also being described as a new hunting ground for the Alien. This will have players improvising and developing new tools to aid in their survival and escape, all to avoid "cinema’s deadliest killer." "It has been over a decade since we created the original Alien: Isolation and I am so excited to show everyone the first glimpse of the sequel," says Al Hope, Creative Director at Creative Assembly. "Our dedicated Survival team at Creative Assembly has been working hard to create a new, evolved Isolation experience continuing the legacy of the Alien franchise, making the eponymous killer smarter, the environment harsher and the chance of survival slimmer." Promising the same deadly tension from the original from over a decade ago, Alien: Isolation 2 is in development for PC, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5. A release date has not been announced yet.
