[Football] Winter Transfer Window 09/10

1801: Two deals we keep being told have been wrapped up are Vasilis Torosidis from Olympiakos to Liverpool and Asmir Begovic from Portsmouth to Stoke City.

1809: DONE DEALS: We've got so many now it's embarrassing. Middlesbrough have announced officially that Egyptian striker Mido has signed for West Ham on loan until the end of the season.

Celtic have confirmed the signing of Tottenham striker Robbie Keane on loan until the end of the season.

The 29-year-old Republic of Ireland international is travelling to Glasgow on Monday evening and will be presented at a 2300 GMT media conference.

Keane has been consistently linked with a move to the club he is known to have supported as a boy.

Spurs manager Harry Redknapp said: "He needs to be playing and to go to Celtic is a dream come true for him."

Celtic had already added Diomansy Kamara from Fulham on loan and Morten Rasmussen from Brondby during January to bolster their strike force.

He is a Celtic man and it looks like it probably will happen

And the Keane deal followed Australia international Scott McDonald's transfer to Middlesbrough minutes before the closure of the 1700 GMT deadline for incoming transfers in England.

McCarthy has something to prove before the World Cup, so perhaps he'll put in some effort. Mido? Mido is yet to know the meaning of effort.

No idea who Ilan is but it's a good deal, 6 month short contract and if Zola likes him, we've got first choice for another 2 years extension - which is my understanding.

Yeah McCarthy will be useful I feel, Mido well we all know his track record! and Ilan could be good an for 6 months we really can't go wrong.

West Ham seriously has no excuse for not scoring goals now  Dreading our game against them. BTW Rappy have they rearranged it yet?

according to the West Ham site it was meant to be 2nd February i.e today but that was postponed again so who knows!

but yeah we now have 7 strikers! :p

Actually i totally forgot we were meant to play you tonight, instead we've got the cup replay. If i'm honest i'd rather we had played you tonight just to get the game out of the way.

7 Strikers!! Barry Fry isn't managing West Ham these days is he

so celtic sell macdonald to buy keane.... i wonder if that is even a good move....considering macdonald is performing for them and keane is inconsistent....

I had the same tht while reading abt this deal.. Keane can be a very handy player or he can have another spell like he had with 'Pool.. Mido is same but I feel West Ham made the right move by going for him.. he has quality

    • Payday TWO!! Is 13 years old man I feel old - I remember trying it out and if I did not know I would say 5-6 years ago or something
    • Payday 2 engine upgrade adds 64-bit and DX11 support, drastically shrinks install size by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Payday 2, the most popular entry in the heisting game franchise, is getting a surprising update after all these years. This is slated to be a complete engine upgrade that will enhance almost every aspect of the 13-year-old title, targeting performance, loading times, file size, rendering backend, and more. Developer Sidetrack Games is planning a beta to test out the new version ahead of the full public launch. The development team today revealed that the long-awaited upgrade to the 64-bit architecture is happening with this Diesel 3.0 engine update. By letting the game use more ram than 4GB, it is said to improve stability and compatibility on most hardware. It should also help modders in the long term with implementing larger changes too. "While many of the changes are made on the backend and not everything will be visible to you guys because it is a massive rewrite of the entire codebase, there will be a lot of things that you can look forward to," Sidetrack explained. Payday 2 will also hop over from DirectX 9 to 11. Instead of visual improvements, this is slated to reduce the amount of VRAM used by the title, letting more lower-end hardware access the title and run it better. Since these changes would require a complete redownload of the game anyway, Sidetrack says it has revamped "the game's packaging and bundling system." This should reduce the installation size from 86GB to 32GB. "So, now it's time to finally move the game to your SSDs," added the studio. The Payday 2 Diesel Engine 3.0 update is entering open beta on June 30 for Steam users. No console release plans were announced today. Sidetrack Games says it has been working on this complete rewrite of the codebase for the last nine months. While these changes should break most mods, the studio encouraged modders to use the beta period to repair their creations with support from the development team.
