I reckon that's a smaller gap than the gap between Fife and Edinburgh across the Firth of Forth, picture certainly seems to indicate that.

I'm off to google maps to get a better look. Where in Danmark?

i've had my eye on one of these for a while but they are either snapped up to quickly or priced too high...

~380 euro. They appear on ebay once in a while, I believe there are some "buy now" items available right now. To be honestly, it's not that of an extraordinary lens. Yes, it's sharp at f2.8 and upto about f11. At 1.8 and 2.0 it's rather soft, but very acceptable. But hey, it's almost 20 years old. And for that age it's bloody good. Other than that, if you don't mind manual focus, go for it. Otherwise save up for 70-200/2.8 or at least 135/2 DC.
