aww poor neowin :(

Those who block the ads don't see the smilie. The people that see it, are they ones that don't block ads.And seeing it, because the ads are too slow to load.

We do see the smiley, unless we choose to block it.

Tom, with all due respect, don't you think most people already know this (especially those who chose to block the ads in the first place)?

No, I as well as a few others in this thread are here to check if Neowin receives money for people clicking the links or if they get money per view? if it's per view and you get money by me white listing Neowin I have no problem doing it otherwise no point I've never been interested or bought anything from ads. It'd probably help more if you removed flash ads as well.

I'm amazed at some of the **** in this thread acting like 10 yr olds who feel like they have to punish Neowin because of a smiley face. It was nothing more than a plee for a few people to white list Neowin which worked for a few people which is pretty much what they wanted. People come in here asking why they see the sad face when they don't block ads and if Neowin is going to fix it, so a dev responds he's currently working on it and have a bit of patience then he receives abuse when he responds that he's trying to fix a problem people are complaining about?

Hasn't Tom already responded to you? Why do you keep repeating yourself in this thread? The developers and the mods have confirmed that they will look at correcting this. Relax.

I dont really care, i will repeat myself until its fixed. There is no need for it to be there, Neowin has been up for for nearly a decade without the need to try and shame people who are blocking ads there is no reason to start now, or alternatively if its not a quick fix remove the image until its ready.

you have already downloaded it by then, by that time its to late, you have already used your limited bandwith

i used an adblocker before i was a T2 subscriber, but subscribed the day T2 came out. i have been with neowin for years, bad times ( i have PM'd mods asking them to delete my account cause i was so miffed ), and good times ( thread i accidentially hijacked became verry verry popular, cause i had a VERRY early retail copy of Doom 3 and was posting screens, of various levels using a level skip code, pm's from mod's and all kinds of people for info regarding it )

literally a subscription at any teir is worth it, didnt before cause i didnt have the funds, now i do. ( i still dont agree with the OSX86 rule change on neowin :( )

And I call those notices junk/spam email that goes straight in the bin.

What does the message say now?

On fast connections you might see it for a split second. Slower connections, it might be visible for a second or two. It reads:

"Don't like ads? There's a subscription for that. Click on the Subscriptions tab for more details."

and I'm too slow. :p

Wow, talk about being a troll today...

Its been tweaked, I think what we have now is better than before.

I thought calling other members a troll was against the rules? way to set an example (Y)

The new message, however, is better than the old one.

    • Microsoft admits one of the most crucial Outlook features is currently broken by Sayan Sen Microsoft is making some decent progress when it comes to Windows 11. Recently we have confirmed reports of some rather useful improvements landing in the next version of the OS, 26H2, wherein GPU driver TDR crashes may finally be fixed, plus the company is also allowing users to disable web content on the Search. On the Outlook front though things have not been so rosy. Last month in May we reported several problems affecting basic functionalities on the app. These included a problem where documents would open blank or corrupt themselves. Following that, Quick Steps, a very useful feature, would no longer work correctly, and finally, Microsoft acknowledged a problem wherein images would fail to load up properly inside the email. Microsoft had resolved those bugs later and almost exactly a month after we reported on them, the company has now admitted a new similarly basic issue, this time on Macs. Users recently started noticing that Outlook would no longer display email threads properly as the original message itself was not displayed. An affected user Tsoumpas, C (ngmb) nicely described the problem in a forum post they made on Microsoft's site. They wrote: "Description of the issue: After updating Outlook for Mac [Version 16.110 (26061317)] on 18/6/2026, replying to any email no longer includes the original message in the reply window. Prior to the update, replies correctly contained the original email text below my response. Expected behavior: The original message should be included in the reply, as in previous Outlook versions and according to the configured reply settings. Actual behavior: The reply window contains only a blank composition area (or only my response), with none of the original email text included." Obviously this must be a highly frustrating for users as noted by several in that thread. The post, at the time of writing, has also been upvoted by more than 40 users indicating that is a fairly widespread bug. Thankfully Microsoft seems to have acknowledged the problem right around that time as it opened a new issue on its official website. In the support article, the company recommends switching to Outlook for Mac from the legacy app, where the problem appears to be happening.
