I just let that slide. This is Japan we are talking about.

Metacritic is at an 82 average:

Not exactly a home run.

People are suggesting this game has a linear start.

Is this linear like the other FF games start off with some linearity but open up as you go through the game?

I'm just thinking that allot of people might be trying to compare this story based game to something like oblivion or fable (which were in fact [iMO] a boring and pointless grindfest).

If that is the case then I think all this talk of linearity actually makes me want to play it more as it has an actual story to follow, rather than just giving me a pointy hat and saying "you're a mage, go blow stuff up".

Bought it from Sainsburys earlier for ?34.99.

Got a few tasks to finish first, so using it as an incentive :)

This is going to be my first final fantasy game too eeek!

It being your first the linearity might be a positive for you, but just be prepared it's a game that needs time and commitment, very slow starting.

I was able to watch the Intro fight the first encounter, and then i had to save so i could get to bed and be ready to go to work this morning. Today will be the longest work day in a very long time.

Brought the game and strat with me to work so i could read through them. and drool waiting to get home and play in around 7 hours.

More like the start of FF13 will be the longest "work day" ever :p

I am enjoying it more now though, I really like the new battle system.

In terms of graphics... look how stupid Sephiroth looked.

LOL i always loved how in final Fantasy VII everyone had wine glasses for hands :p

Also the cutscenes from VII were not all that amazing either.

04-cutscene.jpg

Then again at the time (First 3D Final Fantasy) we all thought that the Graphics were the best in the world.

when it came out it was considered verry good. im shure a couple years down the line the game you really like will be said to look stupid

the cutscene difference between 7 and 8 was HUGE, and then in terms of scale 9 blew both of those guys outta the water... amazing how a couple of years make a huge difference

Is there a demo for FF??? I have not played any of the FF series.

They mentioned in the past that they were going to release the E3 demo at some point after the game was released. However, there has been no mention of this since E3

I just got home with my 360 version and I'm installing all 3 discs to the hard drive before I play.

Out of curiosity how long does that take to do? No longer owning a 360 (since before the NXE) I have no Idea how long it takes to copy a game the the Hard Drive.

agreed.

*Edit* and i just got my game via UPS, now to play it when i get off work

takes a good bit of time, usally i install it and go do something else while its installing.

    • The memory and nvme can be swapped and upgraded with standard parts. But the GPU cannot, which is the weakest part of the box. It's a dead product at these prices.
    • Sounds like the debloated build you are running is missing some components that the Photos app and Snipping Tool rely on.

    • Wow, throwback.  VERY VERY briefly - but realised that it wasn't the language I needed for the tasks I was taking on.
    • Apple and Tesla trade secrets reportedly exposed following a Tata Electronics cyberattack by Hamid Ganji Image via Depositphotos.com Tata Electronics has confirmed that it detected a cybersecurity incident in some of its systems. The Indian company is a manufacturing partner of both Apple and Tesla, and the incident may have exposed some trade secrets belonging to the two American companies. The World Leaks ransomware group is said to be behind the attack, and it has reportedly posted up to 200,000 files on the dark web, including component designs and specification documents related to Apple and Tesla products. Tata Electronics told Reuters that its response protocols were deployed immediately and that the “incident has had no impact on our operations across businesses, which remain unaffected.” The ransomware group reportedly sent a ransom demand to Tata Electronics, while Apple has launched an investigation into the incident. World Leaks claims it stole more than 200,000 files totaling over 630GB from Tata Electronics. Some database files on the ransomware group’s website are titled "com.apple.factorydata," which could refer to Apple’s iPhone production operations in India. Moreover, some documents reportedly contain material specifications and quality inspection standards for iPhone circuit board components. However, Apple is not the only affected company. A folder found in the World Leaks database is titled "NV36 Chargeport Controller - North America," which may refer to Tesla Model Y components. Additionally, other files in the database reportedly contain drawings related to Tesla’s Project Highland, the internal codename for the EV maker’s updated Model 3 sedan. To support the authenticity of the stolen files, World Leaks has published documents containing footers that read: "This document contains proprietary and confidential information of Apple Inc." and "information contained herein is deemed confidential, proprietary, and a trade secret of Tesla Inc." Cybersecurity researcher Rajshekhar Rajaharia told Reuters that the database also contains emails, event logs spanning several years, and passport copies of employees, including foreign nationals. Both Tesla and Apple have declined to comment on the scale of the incident.
