Direct download link for the Windows version

Opened up Chrome and I noticed the new "New Tab" page. Instantly went to Neowin.net to check this thread :p

Thanks for the heads-up Meph! (Y)

Yes, my complaint about the huge bookmark menus got fixed! Finally, when this comes to Beta/Stable I'll be even happier! :D

And I don't really like the "new" new tab page. As the current 6.0 version has links for History and downloads easily. Now I have to go in the menu when I loved them their and easy to access :/ I don't really like the new UI of it that much anyway.

^The current "New Tab" page still has the history at the bottom of the page :) The bookmarks menu are still somewhat large imo though.

Better than they were, if you had a bookmark with a huge name, the menu size would adjust and fill lots of the screen!

GPU rendering is back with this update as well, I had the flags enabled but they stopped working, but I noticed when I made a new tab (obviously when Chrome updated) that the font rendering had changed. :D

True that. Though I change the names for most bookmarks to a shorter name to make it all a little bit nicer. I usually just dump all random bookmarks in the "Other Bookmarks" menu and have the important ones on the bookmarks bar. So I wasn't really bothered by the long names bug :p

Where does one enable this flag?

I really wish about:labs had more options, like the tabbed version of options etc. It only offers Side-Tabs which are easy to get by the --tag. They should have all the --tag features under about:labs.

"-enable-accelerated-compositing" is put after chrome.exe in the shortcut target properties.

If not: --enable-gpu-plugin --enable-gpu-rendering --enable-accelerated-2d-canvas --enable-video-layering --enable-webgl --enable-fastback

    • Apple reluctantly forces strict new age checks on Texas users starting today by Paul Hill Apple will begin enforcing the Texas Age Assurance Law (SB 2420) following a recent court ruling that lifted an injunction on SB 2420. Starting June 4 (today), Apple will enforce strict age-verification and parental-consent rules for new Apple accounts created in Texas. This move will affect children under 18 who go to download apps or attempt to make in-app purchases. Apple previously expressed privacy concerns related to this law, but compliance is now mandatory for the company, nevertheless. Apple will use several APIs to follow the law. Principally, the Declared Age Range API will fetch the specific user age bracket (Under 13, 13-15, 16-17, or 18+) and a verification method. The Significant Change API (PermissionKit) will trigger a system dialog for parental consent if an app gets a major update or an age-rating shift. There is also a new property type in StoreKit that allows developers to automatically check when their app’s age rating has changed on a user’s device and then use the Significant Change API to request parental consent. Finally, App Store Server Notifications can be configured to tell developers when a parent revokes consent, blocking app launches. To ensure they are ready for these changes, developers must immediately use Apple’s sandbox testing environment to validate these APIs in their apps. For any developers out there finding this to be inconvenient, get used to it. Other regions, such as Utah, Louisiana, and Brazil, are looking at, or have implemented, similar rules.
    • They should show the onedrive recycle bin in a searchable manner and on app not just on the website
