WZor - Windows 7/2008 R2 Service Pack 1 - LINKS LEAKED!

I'm taking the plunge and installing this too. Same ol' boring SP installation routine; nothing out of the ordinary or performance improvements. Hope the final version brings a few tweaks.

A few hotfixes were missing on my system, so it's nice to finally have all of them consolidated.

I haven't read through the whole topic so it might have been brought up, but is it possible to slipstream this onto either a DVD or USB stick so when I do a clean Win7 install it will already have SP1 integrated?

No offence, but people constantly putting M$ instead of MS or Microsoft, is neither funny nor clever, it's actually extremely irksome.

It was meant to be quoting Wzor, I never use "M$" I just say Microsoft

i've just been browsing another forum and i can't believe how retarded some people are. even though they are aware that there is no difference between the ISOs once ei.cfg is removed, they're still downloading all the different editions. what absolute numpties.

Nice, im running the Integrated ISO clean install now and it's definitely a bit different than slipstreaming it myself. One thing i noticed on first boot was that the Action Center now has 3 issues waiting - Antivirus, Windows Update (i always choose , "Ask me later" then i choose Check and notifiy but don't download anything setting) and Backup. Backup normally comes 3 days after first installing on RTM.

Other than that, nothing special yet. Working great though for the past 12hrs :)

Actually that's WZOR themselves and their naming scheme + NFO files.

Call me crazy, but I'll only download the untouched slipstreamed ISOs once the hashes show up on MSDN/Technet and verify the legitimacy of the leaked images.

That's not crazy at all; it's perfectly reasonable, especially for just a service pack. But WZor has such a good track record that it's a pretty safe bet that the hashes will match. All of their previous releases have.

I've been running the ISOs since leaked but ill definitely format again when the Microsoft integrated ISOs come out anyways. Its just fun playing with these things ;)

Another benefit of SP1 - not much to download from WU so saves time. At the sametime, it doesn't bother me one bit :) I'm not the norm I know but I just like setting up new systems I guess.

installing SP1 requires 8gb to extract and takes up 6-8gb once installed as it keeps the files incase you want to uninstall SP1. So if you have a small SSD i suggest you do a clean format and install the slipstreamed image as you'll save alot of space :)

anyone know if SP1 fixed the 'thumbnail cache' bug?

because Windows 7 has a bug in it (which Vista does not have. Vista is fine) where it randomly deletes the Thumbnail Cache which is VERY annoying especially when you got a lot of Thumbnails in folder and it has to re-create them from scratch which takes a lot of time.

p.s. right now my Windows 7 is fine but i had to use a workaround to stop it from randomly deleting the Thumbnail Cache which is not a proper fix.

i am also not the only person who has this issue either as there is several others online that have it to. it's the only fairly major flaw i have with Win7. other than that it's generally been great.
