He might get away with it particularly if he turns off things like AA, the trailer is pre-alpha and not optimized in any way

To be honest at that point it is quite optimised. They are optimising as they are coding things no one devs a game and then afterwards go back to check performance that would delay release 12 months.

There's a commantary trailer for the 12 minute trailer, I would post it but it's not very good. Patrick Bach just talks about what you can see really.

Oh look, the Palm Tree is moving.

Do post the link. I love those commentaries.

If a good movie got them on the disk, I always watch the movie again with commentaries.

I won't have the money to upgrade any time soon.

I'm hoping that I do have the money to upgrade by that time. I'm still saving up. I should ideally have all the money for my new parts by July, but there's usually one thing that gets in the way... (besides the monthly rent I pay to my parents, which I already calculated)

Steam sales.

Found it, but it's not in HD.

Thanks.

Or you can purchase online just a cd-key from countries like Poland or Russia, where the games retailed for a lot cheaper.

Hmm, I'll keep that in mind for future games. :) I'm patient most of the time though, so I usually wait for the games to get really cheap then buy them. Which in this day and age, doesn't take too long now. See Killzone 3 and MotorStorm Apocalypse. :p

^ Full 1080p trailer of the 14min footage released. Weighs in at a massive 1.8GB. Downloading now...

I downloaded that a couple of days ago and it looks gorgeous.

I really don't think this game will be that much harder on systems than Bad Company 2 is. I hope we're all presently surprised as far as that goes.

Yeah, that may be the case. It may even run slightly better too because the game will be more PC-focused. It'll feature various anti-aliasing methods, some of which provide similar image quality to MSAA as well as better performance.

I really hope dice think of your squad mates before releasing single player and give them some sort of aiming device on their rifle... every time I see it... they all have no aiming devices not even iron sights just plain empty rail...

    • I'd say the first one failed to be as popular as Apple anticipated, but the easy adjustment here is to make fewer of them next time around. It would only be a "flop" if it isn't possible for Apple to recover the design and factory tooling costs given the number of units sold, which I doubt would be the case. It isn't like no one bought them; it just failed to become the new hot phone of the year.
    • You're right that it does not follow the plain meaning of the word, but in this context, it is a legal term defined in 49 U.S.C. Kind of how "wire fraud" laws apply even if a physical wire was not used. Given that it is codified in law, and it isn't just automotive journalists that don't understand evolving technology, I highly doubt congress would change a well understood term just because technology makes the term slightly less actuate.
    • This is exactly why I keep saying we are not ready for human free self-driving. These little "bugs" are may seem like random one-offs. There was also the Waymo that drove between police with drawn weapons and the suspect they were pointing them at. From a software perspective it is easy to understand how those extremely rare situations may not have been programed for, but that is the point. If AI needs to be told to watch out for every possible contingency, then it can never be successful. There will always be the possibility of a first encounter that the AI needs to understand to avoid.
