Tip to anyone trying to level up jets, Play lots of caspian border rush and use the warthog/frogfoot. they are much easier to get kills with than the other jets. One pass with your main gun can easily kill a tank.

Actually, as a total jet noob, I've found the A10 Thunderbolt the most enjoyable to fly. Granted I've spent around 30 minutes in jets and have yet to get a single kill which isn't kamikaze. My problem is in cockpit mode on an attempted machine gun run, I fly a hair too low and end up hitting things like cranes or stupid objects. I've had some matches where I was 0-10 in KD due to the jets. Sure it murders my stats, but it's sadly the only way to practice.

Probably is. Battlelog works perfectly here. I use it on IE 9, and use firefox 8 for my normal browsing.

Yeah, I've tried Firefox, Chrome, Opera, and IE. With admuncher disabled, firewall disabled, antivirus disabled, anything else I can think of and I still get stuck on "Loading Stats". It was working as it should until a few days ago but I have no idea what's changed.

Eventually when I get fed up with it enough I'll boot into safe mode and see if it still happens then. The only thing I can think of is that I recently updated java.

True and false lol ^_^ but for the most part i would just stick with origin :-P

On an unrelated note, whos ready to see something epic?

That's awesome.

I have hear rumors of a "crack" that lets people run BF3 bypassing origin and going straight to battlelog, but i shall not say anything about where I heard such rumors. I dont see the point in bypassing it since origin hasnt hurt me in anyway but some people might think its useful to them.

it's not a rumour...

Same. I have tanked my stats a lot trying to learn jets, my flight is perfect. I can stay up an entire round in the same jet dodging locks and other jets, and flipping around.... But I have to get a single damn kill on anything. I try to take down other jets with the machine gun, but to no avail, I barely hit them. When I strafe the ground, I never get anything, even firing on tanks, flying slow and low. I love flying them more than anything in this game, but I just can't kill anything!

That is the greatest thing I have seen yet!

What level is this? I haven't come across this base-jump platform on the XB360 version.

EDIT: Never mind, looked it up. Guess you have to play Damavand Peak on Rush. I only play Conquest, so I'll have to switch over to check this out!

Battlefield 3 Coming to Steam Rumors Surface Once More

bf3-steam.jpg

While unfortunately too late for those already toiling in Origin, further rumors have surfaced regarding Steam obtaining Battlefield 3. Though we?ve been fooled before, this time the word comes from two separate sources, a stashed-away portion of code and a possible slip from a graphics card company.

Those digging into the PunkBuster anti-cheat system for Steam reportedly discovered the following lines of code.

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 3\
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\battlefield 3\
  • C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\battlefield 3\
  • C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 3\

But, we?ve been tricked by hidden code hinting at content before. It doesn?t end there, though. Graphics card company Sapphire listed a prize for an upcoming contest as, ?One (1) PC Game code for Battlefield 3, redeemable for the game on Steam (www.steampowered.com) with a Suggested Retail Price of $USD 59.99?

The beginning of the month cruelly teased us with the word that EA and Valve were ?hard at work? regarding Battlefield 3 and Steam. This, of course, turned out to be either false or for naught. But, if there was truly some serious effort made at this meeting of giants, and these current rumors are accurate, then it may still possible to play Battlefield 3 on Steam.

This mystical transfer would mean players could dodge the awkward menu system of Origin and Battlelog. It would also mean your friends could efficiently harass you for playing BF3 and not Team Fortress 2.

This is the best thing I have seen in a FPS since playing Halo 2 and watching my teammate jump off the underneath platform, on Lockout, to save the flag and throw it back onto the ledge as we carried it to victory in sudden death.

Peak is a really fun map, but riddled with ****ty snipers, luckly my mortars cure that lol. If you can get past the craptastic people that like to sit back and snipe and not do objectives the map is great, and the jump is always fun, i still find myself yelling "weeeeeeee" as i jump lol.

There is one thing I would like to see, the ability to look at a platoon you are in and compare your stats to everyone else in there. like a platoon leader board.

I second that. That's been my experience with it too. And then the tunnel at the end. It's pretty much suicide to run down them. It's not much better in conquest, too.

Just recorded a round of A10-Thunderbolt gameplay :) Much prefer flying these to the jets, wish they weren't only found in rush mode.

Of course the round before I went 14-1 with it and wasn't recording :( I think on the round I recorded the other team just gave up on the jet

Even if it comes to steam, I doubt it will get rid of Battlelog. You need battlelog for a lot of things. Including the stats.

And personally, I think battlelog is the best thing ever. But definatelly not Origin.

Impressive flying. What do you use to control the jet?

I use the WASD and arrow keys but I don't find it that accurate. I can't use the mouse because it's backwards for me and I haven't noticed a way to reverse up and down while in jets.

I like the battlelog and honestly have no issues with Origin, you launch it and then never see it again. The cool thing is that games that I have purchased in the past just showed up one day, even my BFBC2 which I lost in a move.

Thanks for the video, I have a much better understanding now of how to get kills.

I keep getting a ton of stutter during gameplay. I'm using a Nvidia 460 graphics card, but despite putting my graphics down to low i will get constantly framerate dips and 5 second freezes while playing. This is generally fatal for me, and i find it's nearly impossible to play with this issue. Besides that, i've found 20 player matches to be very enjoyable, it's not overwhelming and i am actually getting a few kills.

I have a 460 and it plays the Game OK and I do not get what you are getting. It heats up pretty fast. Are you using the recommended Nvidia Drivers?

    • well you can add a GPU for around $500, that's still around the price of Steam Machine but overall significantly better in performance.
