So is there another way in 4.2a1pre to force the extensions? -Download the .xpi file from the Addon -Rename the .xpi file to a .zip file -Open it with winrar or 7zip -unzip the install.rdf and open it with an editor -find the entry like <em:maxVersion>4.0</em:maxVersion> (either on top or bottom) -change it to 4.2a1pre or 4.x -Save the file and put it back to the zip file and overwrite the existent file. -rename the .zip file back to .xpi and install it.
