BetaAddict
While it could be due to addons since all are running with no compatibility check, but it seems to be more due to the code changes this week. Just got to give them some time to optimize the new codes a bit or switch to a different channel if it gets too annoying. New change for Nightly and Aurora: Got fixed today.. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=649480 Button colour for Nightly and Aurora... http://www.stephenhorlander.com/pages/channel-buttons/app-button-channel-colors.html Meh, I've been customizing the button color to match the personas skin using Strataform for ages. Kyang
Borders around the buttons have been removed when using small icons as well. EDIT: Looks like the border around the nav bar itself has been reduced too. TheJudge
they need to increase the border between the tab bar and address bar in the small icons layout in maximized mode.. it just looks ugly and inconsistent that way :( Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/989780-meet-the-browser-firefox-next/page/23/#findComment-594181058 Share on other sites

Kyang
This is what Firefox 8.0a1 looks like with small toolbar buttons as of today: Was the space between the app button and tabs really supposed to be that small, or is that just a modification? +Frank B. Subscriber² Posted July 22, 2011 Subscriber² Share Posted July 22, 2011 Was the space between the app button and tabs really supposed to be that small, or is that just a modification? The space is so small because I reduced border padding and title bar height. Kyang
The space is so small because I reduced border padding and title bar height. Thanks. I wasn't sure if it was a personal mod of yours or if that was another one of the new default changes. I have some stylish scripts, and despite disabling them to check, it's not the first time I've encountered a glitch with it, so I wanted to be sure. grayscale
I didn't notice the change on the toolbar buttons until I read this. I removed the search bar on mine as well since I never really got used to pressing ctrl+k. I just use keywords for my search. BetaAddict
Did they remove the search box? (probably a stupid question, but I haven't been following Firefox development lately) You can manually remove the search box and merge the search box function with Omnibar extension. remixedcat
I normally run my Fx max. so having a loooooooooooooonnnnnnnngggg address bar would look funny and I don't like too many buttons on that row so I also keep the seperate search box LOL.... Pikey
I seem to remember one of the development goals was to eventually get rid of the search bar and use the address bar instead? BetaAddict
I seem to remember one of the development goals was to eventually get rid of the search bar and use the address bar instead? Unless I misunderstood something somewhere .. That is the plan I presume considering Chrome and IE9 have already moved toward this more efficient combination, but they will possibly make it option to manually bring the separate search box. This will most likely happen in FF8 or later as optimizing performance is top priority for FF7.
